One thing you can’t accuse D Taylor of is lacking in the self publicity department.

Even recently directed towards Fray etc for not asking the right questions to Sabri. Got to be happy when someone answers them even if it's not what you want to hear. PR is important and one part of that is a positive relationship with local journalists. Apparently something has happened to erode that this week and DT has decided to release the information he'd previously withheld.

Just catching up on here. Read Daniel Taylor's tweets earlier today and to be honest was a bit worried about the message coming through.
I appreciate some have a position they have taken regarding respect or otherwise for him on the back of this but personally knowing how privvy he is to the inside track, how much he genuinely loves Forest and that he has little to gain by laying bare his thoughts, my respect for him has only increased further. Let's be absolutely clear, by going public he has - maybe inadvertently - given Hughton some potential breathing space by outing the difficulties being allegedly caused by Vrentros. A number of people - including on this forum- have for some time questioned the scatter gun approach to signings for instance. It would seem the infamous aquisitions panel may have returned in another guise. I have been pretty positive so far about EM. He clearly is prepared to throw good money after bad and God knows theres been plenty of bad at our club for much longer than his tenure, but the plan seems to be lacking or rather changing on a regular basis. Regarding Daniel Taylor, whether people like his views or not, he has consistently shown integrity in his writing, even though todays outbursts sounded very much like a frustrated supporter like you or I. The difference being the source of his frustration is based on considerably more inside knowledge than most people. I get why some are turning on him. They were uncomfortable revelations today. It felt like your kids school ringing up to tell you your kid, whom you thought was getting along fine, has been suspended for being involved in something untoward like bullying. However, I reiterate, by "going public" Daniel may have done us a good turn, at least for next 12 months or so. The club may stick to a strategy, move forward and finally get where we want to be......or not. Turns out that Alf may have been right all along.

I don’t buy this as him creating a story as for one thing it’s been all on his personal Twitter and not anything like ‘read more of my thoughts in my latest athletic article’ like zico says it’s more of the fan voice coming out. And maybe like some have pointed out it’s not directed as EM individually but the way the club has dealt with its managers, which would be - again as pointed out - vrentzos’ job.
Perhaps there has been a falling out between these two? Who knows? |
