I don't want Hughton to be picking players he wants, if you look into Murphy, what his principles are and what he wants, we shouldn't be wanting Hughton to pick the players.
We want to end the nonsense that has been the previous 5/6 transfer windows, build for today and tomorrow. Have continuity in approach to who we sign and the way we want to play.
Hughton is definitely the loser in that, in that it's not being built to his strengths, but I totally support that approach. Else we end up with a new man whoever who wants his own men again and we keep making the same mistakes.
Hughton's job now is to make this team greater than the sum of it's parts, be adaptable to what he has and get the most out of them. He's failing to do that, that bit is on him.
I would have hoped we'd have got the new #3 and #6 by now, because we desperately need them. But I prefer us to be patient than go out and sign more Bong, Arter, Jenkinson types who saddle us with big contracts for numerous years and contribute nothing.
I truly think we'd backing the right horse in Murphy. But he can't change years worth of poor business in a couple of months.

So basically you're saying, you've got a S**t team but you've got to somehow make them competitive and if not you get sacked. Seems fair

You acknowledge that we desperately need a left back and CM though. I would say if something is a desperate need that it implies that we are in desperate trouble and therefore it's going to be difficult to "get the most out of them".

No, he can't. And neither can Hughton.
It's not on him if the CEO hasn't filled key positions. That's Dane's job. We've gone from one extreme to the other. Instead of 14 in, we have just 1 (fit) outfield player in. You might be happy with that business (and Zinc Man is quality) but I'm not. I'm pretty sure Hughton is pulling his hair out. You can make a team more than the sum of its parts. IF you have the right parts. Which the new CEO has not provided. Yet.
It makes sense losing 4 journey men LBs. But it doesn't make sense starting the season without one.
In that context, Hughton is hung out to try.
You should 'manage' better Hughton. Many say. He is. He's doing exactly what fans want and some fans still aren't happy.
Against sides like Bournemouth who've got Premier money behind them we were somehow expecting our bare assed squad to beat them. And to be fair to Hughton, his patched up side got back in the game but for some god awful goalkeeping.
Forest are starting over. And I'm fine with patience for Dane along as Hughton gets the same fair treatment.

It's not a case of one or another.
We are underperforming as a result of CH.
3 league games.
Leading in 1, level in 2 by the final 3rd of each game.
We've lost each game. That's evidently an issue over our mentality and approach.
When a team is behind and equalises, particularly at this level, they regularly go on to put the opposition under pressure and win. That's what Coventry did to us.
We equalised vs Bournemouth and Blackburn, then proceeded to sit back in again. No positive changes.
He absolutely is responsible for us underperforming. Of course we could have better options available. I hope we get them too. But it doesn't mean we aren't underperforming.

Or it's an issue that this is the most this team can achieve with all the issues in the squad right now.
We did well to lead and be level in those games and faded due to the options available.
I don't believe another manager would've got overly different performances out of the team.

Totally disagree. The negative approach is deliberate. But if the team is fading, then why not make changes before the 83rd minute? Don't tell me it's about not wanting kids on, Bournemouth's injury ravaged team was full of them.

Unfortunately Hughton isn’t the right manager for plan B IMO.
I think we need to make the change now before we waste another 5 games.
If we knew that we really should have pulled the trigger on CH 3 months ago. Someone is to blame for delaying that decision.
Or clever. Brand new CEO comes into a club who already have a well respected manager amongst the majority of the fan base, his first action is to sack that manager, he gets instant backlash because that manager is so well respected, even more so if the season then starts badly under a new guy.
Instead the new CEO waits 4/5 games, if the well respected manager gets off to a good start then fair enough, he can stay the extra season and see out his contract, it's a season of transition anyway... but if he starts the season really badly (coming into it off the back of poor form at the end of last season) then gets sacked, the CEO might find he has the majority of supporters on his side just by waiting those 4/5 games.
What a hideous strategy.
There is plenty of upside for Murphy there, but not very much for the Club.
We know from Widdow that bids have gone in for players, and he has an impeccable record for transfer gossip at the Club.
So we have a list of targets but the main man cannot get any of the deals over the line; he probably thinks he is being clever by offering derisory amounts to desperate Clubs in need of the money.
Well guess what, we are the desperate ones now; if Murphy goes back in for any of the players we have had bids rejected for, it will smack of desperation and the price will go up again.
If things drag on another week we will have players rejecting us because the do not fancy a relegation fight.
I suppose you cannot really blame the players for showing a lack of desire when the CEO does the very same.
Do you think there is sufficient cash there to get all of the players CH wants?
I don’t, hence his current strategy.

With the exception of Cash this current squad of players is better than the one Sabri took to 7th.

...because the keeper gaffed in each game which cost Forest the draw in each. That's 3 points. Gone.
Forest weren't under performing in most of those games so far. They've started brightly and done well in large parts of the games. But key moments of defensive madness. That's on the players. And we need to recruit.
And if you don't recruit competitive players. You're going down.
Not much Hughton can do about what Samba did in the last game to concede that 'chaos' goal.

It’s the unbalance in the squad- at the moment we have Zinkernagle, lolley and Johnson that all prefer right wing and only mighten that prefers left wing. Same with full backs - 4 right backs 1 left back. If we are really in for this American right back too then I just can’t see the logic behind our recruitment still…

Really?
A bunch of Kids
Grabban, Colback and Lolley still here but 2 years older and all well past their sell by dates.
Worrall injured, Samba lost form
Who exactly is better than what Sabri had?

Balance. We must learn balance. *Yoda voice.
I hope the new CEO can bring balance to our Force.
We need another RB and a couple of LBs. We need a ball player. A CF (please, GOD, make the WAITING, STOP!!!!). *We know SA, you say this in every thread... (I do? Really?)
Push comes to shove. The transfer window deadline looms. We're going to have to pull our finger out.
