Way too critical. I know we weren't great yesterday but come on, every single little thing was being criticised.

Yes he moans and criticises but only when it's justified. Every time he criticised yesterday he was spot on and I agreed with him every time.

Criticism is more useful if it's constructive. 'That's poor' or 'he should do better there' don't add anything to the game. Tell us what he *should* have done then.

I like pundits to provide insight that fans can't. Any moaner in the stands can come up with what Birtles does.

Fair enough but I like him that's all I'm saying.

If it's crap he will say it's crap. Sometimes it's hard to elaborate once the passage of play has moved on. It's not like he's sitting in a studio at half time where there is no game gong on so they have to waffle on about any old crap until the action starts again.

To be fair I think the a standard of punditry in football is poor as a whole compared to other sports.

100% agree, the world cup proved that. Literally one decent pundit across both channels.

I just don't get the insistence to have ex players that are not media trained and just give out clichés. Much rather listen to a journalist whose job is to write about sport or even comedians!

Garry Birtles is Forest royalty and loves the club. He wants what we want and when it's not quite happening he will be honest. Even if live on commentary.

He moans alot less than some fans on Social media....and even some on forums.

Decent write up by Percy this morning

My favourite bit was this
“ Forest drew up a shortlist of potential signings, and it was Evangelos Marinakis, the club’s owner, who threw the name of Navas into the mix. Many at the club feared it would be a total non-starter.”

On another note its clear Percy is the clubs chosen journo for national media. About time too, in the past Forest have been to passive in getting their side of a story out there which leaves them open to a kicking when things go wrong. That may mean Percy is a bit biased sometimes but it doesnt hurt to even out some of the crap.

Steve: Hi Vangelis I think we need to sign another goalkeeper.

EM: Sure Steve will Navas do for you?

Steve: I am serious Vangelis don't make jokes about it please.

EM: I am not f*****g joking Steve now do you want Navas in your team or not, yes or no?

Steve: Well yes of course I do, who wouldn't want Navas in their team.

EM: Right just hang on for a few days and I'll get it all sorted for you, now bogger off because I'm busy.
