From David Ornstein on Twitter:

Marcus Rashford expected to miss rest of season with hamstring injury. No surgery + rehab at #AVFC as tests ongoing. #THFC game not totally ruled out but highly likely campaign over & 27yo to focus on getting fit for England games in June

Horrible to say it but I'm glad he's injured because I'm fed up with hearing his name. Rashford this, Rashford that, it's like he's prime Messi or something. He's got better since he went to Villa but I still wouldn't put him down as being a top prem player. He's not even Villa's best player.

How hes managed to even be mentioned for England let alone picked is pretty spectacular

So positions of ours and our rivals final games as it stands.

Us: 11th 12th 19th 17th 5th

Newcastle: 9th 5th 2nd 15th

Man City: 13th 20th 10th 8th

Chelsea: 1st 3rd 14th 6th

Villa: 8th 10th 16th 14th

8th-12th will be fighting for some kind of Europe although 12th (palace) might put all hope and focus on beating city to get there instead?

I think Chelsea should be worried, id be for Newcastle winning their next 3 games if it pulls Arsenal in and pushes Chelsea away

If Fulham were to beat Villa on Saturday they'd only be three points behind them - that should be motivation enough. It'd also mean Villa could only get to 66 points. Chelsea have Liverpool and Newcastle as their next two matches - lose both of those (which is quite possible) and they could only get to 66 points too.

Bournemouth have a similar motivation the following week, actually quite annoying they didn't win last weekend.

Yup - still so many twists and turns to come. The optimist in me thinks seven points from our remaining games could be enough. Villa are definitely weaker without Rashford and Chelsea are pretty flaky. Newcastle have a couple of tough matches next up too. Everything to play for.

Joelinton might be out for the season too.

You would like to think 67 would be enough, especially if that includes not losing against Chelsea.

Win one of the two games this weekend, beat Leicester, beat West Ham. Maybe that would be job done.

I really rate Joelinton (I was hoping Sanare was going to be our version of him).

He'd be a miss for them but to be honest they're going to qualify no prob.

I wouldn’t be so confident.
Their next 3 aren’t easy.
It’s not beyond the realms they get 3/4 points from next 3

Be nice if 67 was enough so the Chelsea game didn't matter. It's not impossible with their next two matches.

Ideal scenario would be for us to be secure and for them to need something from the game, which we then deny them. That'd be sweet.
