I remember about 5 years back on another forum, The Wolf was screaming to anyone who would listen that we should bid for Watkins because he would be a star. Nobody listened of course because it was the Fawaz era but think what could have been.

You see, it's not only us losing a top player.
Watkins gone, Lewis from Norwich, Wilson from Bournemouth, looks like King going from Bournemouth too, sure Watford sold a top player also but I forgot his name.
Panic on the streets of London

Not quite sold yet from Watford if you mean Doucoure, but it should be confirmed soon.

Aye, I remember a lot of chat and watching his highlights videos at Exeter. But instead we bought the likes of Murphy, Cumdog & McKay.

Brice Samba voted in Championship Team of the Season. Cash wasn't though, lost out to Luke Ayling.

Blackett in the post describing himself as a left sided centre half. Sees himself in that position.

I’m pretty sure we were ‘offered’ Watkins and Maguire when Pearce was in charge for pittance but Fawaz deemed them too low profile

Pearce definitely wanted Maguire, and Che Adams. Not sure about Watkins.

Reading that athletic article about how tough the season will be physically definitely made me appreciate getting knocked out of the league Cup already!
We're going to need our backup players to contribute I fear for us to be successful

And I think our recruitment reflects that Sabri recognise that. We may not have improved the first XI (though hopefully Freeman will be better as number 10 than anyone was last season), but our backups seem better. Blackett is sold, Bachirou has a decent pedigree and Taylor is definitely a better backup striker than we had last season.
