Clearly not.
Are we better than wanting a winning football team????
I think it would be ridiculous to want otherwise. As with all fans, of course we were happy when we were winning and pushing the top end. If this was just a blip in form and a short term issue we would still be supporting the manager. However, this is not a recent issue. We are not winning (not even drawing) and we are not scoring. And most importantly the manager doesnt seem willing to change or move away from tactics that are not working.
Some still support the manager
Some want him gone.
The longer get this goes on the more will fall in to the latter.
Stability only works where the performances show hope. Inconsistency where performances are good some games and poor others offer hope moving forward. Playing well and losing offers hope moving forward and is something we can all get behind. But, again, the current performances (going back 8 months now) do not inspire hope and any form. We are playing terribly and losing and on top of that it's the most boring and negative style of football we have seen in a long time... dont give me the counter attacking shite because we haven't done that effectively since leeds at home.
Everyone is entitled to support the manager or want him gone. Doesnt mean we support the club any less if our opinions differ. We all see things differently.
You're not asking for stability, you're asking for a team that plays well every game and never has a bad patch. Every team goes through inconsistency, the base of stability is knowing that despite a bad run the manager will not change and have to look at short term solutions.
If you want the manager out fine (that Barnsley game last year was almost enough on its own) but dont try and claim you also was consistency.
I suspect if we ever somehow went up and we're inevitably rubbish in the higher league people would want the manager out within 10 games.
Completely agree Pap, bit surprised at quite the level of negativity on this forum. I thought most could see the value in keeping a manager long term and letting him learn from his mistakes. I can only imagine how bad some of the other forums must look and twitter!
Due to the nature of football stability Is only going to come with results... we haven't had results since january.
I'm not asking g for good football every game I am asking for the hope that things will change.
We play poor and win... there is hope
We play well and lose... there is hope
It really doesnt matter how we win we just want the team to win.
At the moment and since january we haven't been winning or playing well.... where is the hope there especially on such a long run of poor results and performances.
Some people believe that because it's a new season we should almost forget the run since january. If performances had been improved since the start of this season then fair enough..
The point is though, that performances are the same as they were and results are just as bad.
There is no sign of hope with this manager. That doesnt mean he wont turn it around and I hope he does but come on, how can you back something that is currently so wrong.
