To be fair, the club have been unlucky with the lock-down as it's now impossible to plan around start & end dates of the season. However, I remain of the view that had they applied for planning for the new stand alone, and not tagged on the apartments, then planning would be in the bag by now. The club's strategy is to use to the wider economic and social benefits of the improved stadium as a lever to achieve a planning permission for the apartments ie, in their currently proposed form, it's unlikely the apartments would get planning permission if submitted as an individual application and so the club are saying, we'll build the city of Nottingham a shiny new stand, if you give us planning for these apartments.

The sale of those appartments will go a very long way towards paying for the New Stand; I would guess that the Stand is totally dependent on the appartments

Yes I accept there's a economical argument to this too and it's easy for me to say but the need to replace of the main stand will have been obvious to any buyer of the club, as it is to us. But an alternative, cheaper stand could be developed without the enabling development. It just takes some cash risk from the owner to do it. Again, easy for me to say from here sat at my desk.

In all fairness to EM, this is exactly what the yank consortium were likely to do if Fuckwit had sold the club to them, although I think JJ Moores was looking at the Rushcliffe centre more than building a new block of apartments. Then again, it would not be absurd to assume he maybe would've gone down the same route that EM is planning on going down as well considering he did say he wanted to turn approaching the Main Stand as an experience similar to walking down Wembley Way
