It would mean we could retain our iconic location.
The Trent “End” would become longer increasing the corporate facilities with a view of the river, which I think is massively under utilised. The Pitch Diner has never really become the venue it should have been.
I appreciate we would potentially have to play elsewhere for a season, albeit I do not know if that is for certain but I think it would be worth it.
I get your point and like the idea but to demolish and rebuild would be very expensive and as stated elsewhere the footprint is still very small for a modern stadium. Do we even own the land? Thought it was the council? Plus County could hold us to ransom on rent, we would have no option.
Here is my thought on stadium as it stands:
Peter Taylor stand Decrepit as we know
Brian Clough stand. Aging, poor executive boxes, doesnt meet modern standards
Trent End. Poor 2 tier design, most home ends are single tier to improve atmosphere. Does anyone actually use the Castle Club or whatever its called?
Bridgford End. Restricted size due to nearby housing. It remains the only stand where we can house away fans as they can be corralled by police in the car park behind. Therefore if we increase capacity elsewhere we would probably want to increase away allocation. Would mean returning the whole end back to away fans.
All in all a bit of a dogs breakfast. Rebuilding each stand in turn would be sustainable but take years and probably involve compromising the final design. I like the idea of a bolt on to the back of the BC stand but whilst giving a few function rooms not sure it would achive much else.
Sorry but I keep coming back to the conclusion we need to move to a new purpose built site
