I’m sure it will be sorted in the end...
So they own the house but it's the 'land use' area they'll have to get around?
Perhaps given that it's bringing 100 million or part of that development for the area...the land use may be something they can get past. Given the time it took to announce they must be pretty confident of achieving planning permission.
Either way, I've always felt the land the City Ground is on could be optimised more in its footprint... We know there isn't loads and loads of space to play with but I still think what they have could be more efficiently used and the 'new' design points in that direction. Adding an extra 8k capacity will stand Forest in good stead for the future.
Again, it's down to innovation. If it's right to light then I'm sure they'll be able to design around it.
I'd have thought the Peter Taylor Stand will be part of 'Phase 1' and just that alone would tidy up the City Ground significantly. And the other bits of 'tidying' up design work will give the whole place a lift... The concourses around the City Ground do look a bit out of date. There's lots to do with the City Ground.
I quite like the new tab on the official website talking of the 'New City Ground.' The next two years will pass soon enough.
