These nimbys do not want a viable premier league stadium in their neighbourhood.

Nope, course they don’t. There is an obvious point here about why the country is failing too.

By the way the lovely people of Toton and Gamston would be equally negative should it ever be suggested they had a world class investment in their neighbourhood too.

Those other sites are mainly undeveloped and would not generate the level of objections developing the City Ground is. The truth is it is very difficult to increase the capacity by 22,000 being so close to the river, the congested traffic going over the two bridges and the lack of parking space in close residential areas. Nobody can accuse the Club of not trying to keep us at the City Ground but we have outgrown it and it’s time to relocate.
