The Rushcliffe planning committee meeting kicks off soon (at 6.00pm).
If you're tuning in, expect to hear 1. futile grumbles from locals who don't like living next to a premier league football stadium, 2. absurd and utterly irrelevant comments by councillors who have absolutely no idea about high value development, football stadia, architecture, planning law and just what it takes (and costs) to put together a planning application of this nature. And then witness, 3. councillors trying to demonstrate to their electorate that they're working on their behalf by debating the pros and cons of the application, with the cons taking up most of the debate only for the permissions to be granted anyway.
