Everyone gets side tracked around recruitment. That is only part of the problem. It’s the overall leadership and strategy around the club.

Agreed it would be good if the club could pick an identity and stick with it. Then player and manager recruitment and the pathway from the academy to first team can all be built round it.

That takes a lot of patience and also a commitment to stick with it if things go badly short term. We've not seen either of that.

Is it Edu's remit to define and implement that strategy? That's a genuine question - I have no idea.
