I will leave them under the radar but he is not only building a team on the pitch but also off it too.
Its taken quite some time, but finally, we are seeing the fruits of EM's labours.
He hasnt always got things right, but when he has got things wrong, he hasnt been afraid to rectify things. He has never given up or thrown his toys out of the pram like some petulant child (maybe the tweet after Everton being the exception!).
He has constantly backed our managers and isnt afraid to dip his hands into his pockets to help build the team and the club.
I shudder to think what the outcome couldve been if he hadnt come in and saved our club. Fuckwit al hasawi wouldve killed us altogether. That Yank that was sniffing around wasnt interested in the club, just the development opportunities around the stadium rather than from and within the stadium.
EM has done this in an almost quiet and dignified way (gobbing on the floor in front of officials was never going to go down well though). He is having to put up with all sorts of S**t in his native Greece, but over here, gobbing incident apart, he is just getting on with things as though nothing was happening elsewhere. He has made mistakes. He has made some superb decisions. He has backed the team and the club 100% and has not wanted anything in return apart from success on the pitch. I dont have anywhere near the £billions he has, but what he wants are no different to what i and every other single Forest fan wants. A club to be proud of. A club once again being a force to be reckoned with on the National and International stage.
For too long, we Forest fans have lived in the memory of the late 70's and early 80's. We are ridiculed by other sets of fans for living in the past. Probably rightly so TBH. But now, with the improvements EM is managing to achieve, along with a Manager that is managing to achieve, we the Forest faithful can dare to live life looking to the future with excitement, as well as looking back to the past with pride.
Thank you Evangelis Marinakis for making this become a reality
Great write up and viewpoint as always tricky. I've certainly had my issues with structure and vision previously, but the big man as sorted the lot, very very grateful. As I said not long ago thank you very much Mr Marinakis, I took my nephew for the first time last night, you have given us both memories we will never forget. That's what life is all about.
