50k tickets at average of £660 is around £33m
Plus you get a lot more corporate and event revenue.
Lets say you get an extra £20m a year from a shiny new stadium than we do now.
Its a lot and it adds up to £400m extra over 20 years
However we can still redevelop the CG and add revenue there probably add an extra £10m/ year
You have to also take into account that whilst £20m sounds a lot that is only 16% of our tv income. If we say it is £10 more its only 8% of tv income.
Don’t think its a cut and dried decision and can see the attraction of both but remain a bit suspicious about the conflict of interest our chairman has.
It's not like the conflict of interest wasn't known before appointing him. Which means he was likely brought in because of that not in spite of that.
To me this has all the hallmarks of preparing the groundwork to move.
If you were Marinakis, would you want to spend excessive amounts on getting the CG just to 38k?
I'm undecided personally, I don't feel like the expansion of the CG represents particularly good value for money but don't really want to move either. Waiting for someone to find a good option that somehow allows us to do both somehow!
