Yeah, a shame we didn't manage to hold on but a point is definitely a better result for us than them. The play since Nuno came in has been much better, coops would not have got us the 2 United victories, I don't think. So in my mind, we're 6 points better off for making the change. Set pieces are clearly a worry and it's annoying we're not improving but there is still time.
Keep the faith, couple of winnable home games now coming up. To be honest, 6 points might be enough this season (deduction dependant). It's not where any of us wanted to be this season, but if we can stay up, make some good signings, we're well set.... although the league is likely to be a lot harder next season.
Maybe, maybe not but there are games since then where I think we may well have done better. Certainly its a pretty pointless debate as we'll never know.
Facts are 11 points from Nuno's 12 games and 14 from Cooper's 13 games. So I think it's a bit disingenuous to claim we're doing better.
14pts from 17 Cooper games, 0.82pts per game, 11pts from 12 Nuno games, 0.92 pts per game
Yes it’s not good but it’s a slight improvement.
Bad maths on my part, can't count! I certainly don't see it as a clear improvement either way, marginally better so far.
Non statistically speaking I'd say it's clear that we're much closer in almost all games under nuno. Without the bad luck we've had, the vast majority would agree that we've deserved more points than we've accumulated since Nuno took over. That's not an excuse, it's still worrying, but I believe that our 'luck' simply has to change and we will achieve the required points.
Maybe if our forwards improved their scoring abilities more we will achieve the required points. While everyone keeps going on about defending set pieces being our downfall, failing to score some of the chances we have created over the course of the season should also be defining areas of concern.
Football is a simple game. If you score more goals than your opponents, you win the game. Simple! We have had so many opportunities to score more goals, but have wasted the chances.
We have had bad decisions made against us, I'm not disputing that fact, but we have also been the architects of our own downfall by squandering more chances than a dodgy refereeing decision made against us by the officials per game.
Luck doesnt come into it.
