The frustrating thing as DR says is that he could have had it. They have financial backing and the knowhow to run a Champions League football club yet have made mistakes that a novice owner would make.
Ive not given up on EM yet, still believe his intentions were good even if money driven and he is ultimately a winner. Yes it will be interesting to see what happens with the new stand, if planning still comes through etc, they looked serious enough to push it through by schmoozing a government minister over the summer.
It could be that he has realised the time and effort it ultimately requires to get out of the sodding championship. He has big businesses to run and his main club - maybe he feels he can't devote enough effort to Forest to get us where we need to be?
That's a mighty fine bit of reasoning there Shawoddy and is a valid consideration. He is successful in all of his ventures and NFFC must be like a massive millstone around his neck, dragging him down in terms of his successes
Probably a large part of the reason if this is correct but surely the expression ‘eyes wide open’ applies?
Disappointing if it happens due to that Groundhog Day feeling but get it done quietly and quickly so there is minimum disruption. Maybe one day an owner will finally get it right or we will get a slice of Leicester level luck.
I dunno about eyes wide open....I work a lot in Africa and the amount of people that try to do business there, who are very successful elsewhere else is astonishing! I'm not trying to compare Africa to the Champoinship but it's not just a copy and paste from his Greek league success. Perhaps he thought it would be perhaps, but looks like it's not been as he had hoped.
Culture.
It shouldn't be under-estimated.
And I think it was.
You can't necessarily 'cookie cutter' things like that.
