Yes it’s cost him money, but if Jacob Marley has shown them the mistakes of recruitment past, and he’s now set up the right team to steer us forward with this plan B, then logic dictates if he actually believed in plan B then much of his financial pain may be behind him.
By quitting he would also surely make himself and Randall look a bit stupid (understatement) with their ‘commitment to the new stadium’ BS.
He's losing a min 13m a year to meet operating losses (usually more when you include non FFP expenses) so call it 20m. Depends how big that money pit is, I'm sure he can see that we're not really getting any closer to going up. The value of a championship club is all baked into getting into the prem, if not it's just years of painful losses.
I agree and you would be naive to think anything other than EM is ultimately in it to get PL money. The frustrating thing as DR says is that he could have had it. They have financial backing and the knowhow to run a Champions League football club yet have made mistakes that a novice owner would make.
Ive not given up on EM yet, still believe his intentions were good even if money driven and he is ultimately a winner. Yes it will be interesting to see what happens with the new stand, if planning still comes through etc, they looked serious enough to push it through by schmoozing a government minister over the summer.
It could be that he has realised the time and effort it ultimately requires to get out of the sodding championship. He has big businesses to run and his main club - maybe he feels he can't devote enough effort to Forest to get us where we need to be?
That's a mighty fine bit of reasoning there Shawoddy and is a valid consideration. He is successful in all of his ventures and NFFC must be like a massive millstone around his neck, dragging him down in terms of his successes
