- No FFP embargos
- players wages - paid with more scrutiny on that now we would have likely received point deductions had it happened today
- No appointing a stuck off lawyer to act as CEO
- No appointing a former groundsman/light engineer as CEO
- No banning of media ( yes this was Billy D but approved by Fawaz )
- No Twitter`ing - to many examples tragic comedy exchanges
- Creditability with EFL as Randal now part of the committee.
- Cat1 status
- New ground plans close to sign off and significant investment to achieve
- Making money on some transfers
- No commissioned paintings of EM in the Clough era as if he was involved.
- Improvements to the commercial operations ( although the latest catering one is a negative so far )
- No interference into team selection
- No eye test issues
- Not arranging contracts on nights out with players
- 150th Anniversary shambles.
- Treatment of Frank Clark / Paul Faulkner
- Selling players and informing the press before the manager - JL/KD
The list could go on.
I know we are in a poor state currently with the squad and results and I get people are concerned but its not the sad story it was previously.
Certainly room for improvement, as with anything and that is currently what we want to see from the new leadership but it will take time to embed and remove our more recent mistakes from history ( e.g the Carvalho experiment and the madness of the last window ) and evolve our ethos in terms of transfers.
That's a very one sided post which fails to recognize the current regime's similar failings. Fazza's era didn't have.....
- A head of recruitment arrested on suspicion of extortion
- A boat load of other criminal allegations attached to the owner
- The constant sales of our best or academy players each year, with said money usually reinvested in dross
- Very little communication from the club for long periods of time
- Reject players from the owners other club bogging down the wage bill, whilst pinching/trying to pinch our better ones such as Silva & Ribero.
And Vrentroz very much tried to interfere with team selections according to DT. One of the reasons for the AK fallout as he would play Appiah.
I'm not gonna even entertain to mirror stuff like petty stuff like paintings, eye tests. You could say Fazza didn't fee us BS like affording managers "The Precious Commodity Of Time" but that's all fluff talk anyway.
Don't get me wrong, I think off the pitch EM is better than Fawaz by a decent margin. But let's not lose perspective of the realties of the situation. There have been issues to be concerned about.
There's plenty to be positive about to, but it's understandable that some fans have some concerns.
