NFFC Financial Talk
So let me get this right - we could sell player x in a swap deal for player y. Bank the profit on player x and then only have to have the amortisation of player y for the p and s for this year?

That’s mad! Another loophole - have oly got anyone worth 25m we could swap out for?

Yep that’s correct.
Chelsea sign Duran from Villa for 40m and sell Maatsen to Villa for 40m

That banks them 32m FFP profit this year.

Maatsen is pure profit, and the Duran deal amortised over 5 yrs is 8m cost this years accounts.

Wonder how or when the Chelsea hierarchy and villa hierarchy got so chummy?

Maybe we do sell yates to Leicester for pure profit buy dewsbury-hall another nottingham lad

Suggested this ages ago but with MGW and dewsbury hall.

It's a really obvious way round the problem.

MGW and Dewsbury Hall?

Worst idea ever.

This is what Juventus got relegated for a few year ago in Italy. They were inflating the figures and moving players than never really had the value they had claimed in these deals though.

I wasn't saying they are equal players. Just that clubs in financial trouble could 'swap' players to get round the current issues.

That's an interesting idea.

Would there be anything to stop two clubs doing that but using fringe players at over-inflated values so it didn't harm either club much?

E.g. we sold Alex Mighten to Leicester for £40m and bought Hamza Choudhury from them for the same amount?

There's no set value for players - it's agreed between the two teams so I don't see how it'd break any rules.

In that example above both players are academy graduates (I think) so it'd be pure profit for both clubs and wipe out their PSR issues.

It would need to be for market value

That's my point though - who sets the market value?

It's not like when you go into a shop and items are displayed with price tags.

Just a shame that yates and dewsbury-hall aren’t the same value.

I doubt we will be doing this anyway but whatever we do end up doing it would be nice if it was rumoured soon enough
