I thought they were 2 different breaches and only because they dragged the arse out of it did the 1st breach punishment happen this year instead of last?

Yeah this is an issue, caused by themselves for dragging it out. However, there is a legitimate argument to put any future deduction onto next season.

I certainly wouldn't be banking on Everton getting more points off this year.

The prem's going to be much much harder next season so kicking the can down the road may be folly.

It'd be a good result if there are no more points deductions this year.

This is my take on things, Johnson played 3 PL games for us this season, We won 3pts, so that’s our sporting advantage, So they should just deduct us them 3 points we won. Also surely having 30m on the table in June is mitigation, as that would have put us comfortably within the limits.

Just been listening to TalkSport, a financial expert reckons Everton get 2pts deduction and Forest would get 2/3pts deduction. I think we would have more than enough to stay up with that.

Not heard it so would be interesting to know his/her reasoning on why Everton to only get 2. In my opinion it's a repeat offence from them. Had a whole year to sell assets to get under the limit but didn't do enough. Thought they might of got hit with a higher one.

This is an extract from today's Athletic article, it doesn't fill me with hope that we will avoid a points deduction:

How did the commission decide upon six points?
Taking all 10 points from Everton might have been deemed unjust by the appeal board, but there was no prospect of them avoiding punishment altogether. “We have no doubt that, leaving aside mitigating factors, any breach of rule E.51 warrants nothing less than a points deduction.”

Other available sanctions, including a fine, a transfer embargo and a suspended points deduction, were deemed unsuitable, leading the appeal panel back to the same uncertain ground where the original commission had opted for a 10-point deduction.

Actually I feel quiet good after reading that because it clearly states that other options besides a points deduction are available.

Unless the Everton fan is also on the Independent Commission, he knows FA

The most important part of the statement is "leaving aside mitigating factors".
Firstly, it doesn't preclude the possibility of any points deduction being reduced in its entirety by mitigating factors.
Secondly, we've got lots of them.

From listening to the expert (Stefan Borson) it's looking like we are due potentially a 2-point deduction based on 1 year over.

So looks like we should be ok should we pick up some wins.
