This is NOT from my Greek football journalist mate nor is it from my family member who works in EM's circle (my two usual sources).

I think it might have originated from the Turks but a lot of the Greek press have picked it up this morning so I thought it was worth mentioning although of course I am taking it with a huge pinch of salt.

The 'news' (if that is the right word) is that EM has been in contact with Mourinho and actually sent him a proposal.

Sniff, do we know if it is in relation to Greece or England? Thanks

Nottingham Forest are not mentioned in the articles and if I remember well neither are Olympiakos but there is absolutely no way that Mourinho will go to work in Greece despite what some Olympiakos fans might think. It says EM has made a proposal not Forest or Olympiakos.

It's now being picked up by more Greek press and they are now saying Olympiakos but they are dreaming. So in some articles it says EM sent a proposal and in others it says Olympiakos sent a proposal. Either way he ain't going to Greece!

I don’t think Mourinho’s ego would let him manage a club more likely to be involved in a relegation battle, its always a club competing for titles. Whatever his sympathies towards Clough he doesn’t strike me a a nice character, witness this weeks charge for abusing the ref post match in a car park, thats pretty distasteful to say the least.

Thanks for the info Sniff. Not sure how this would be seen if it were Forest related. I mean this would be a hell of a culture shock to the club and us fans. The guy is a winner but the football is an acquired taste.

I actually joked about this with my lad on Wednesday- would he swap cooper for mourinho? Interesting debate but the football - we’ve been playing a Mourinho style anyway.
Both decided to stick though!

If things click, one gets the feeling SC could be here for the foreseeable future.
What is success under Jose? Mid table? Can't see him wanting to come here and he would only stick around for a maximum of 2 seasons. Then we start again.
I'd stick with Cooper.

I'd take him alongside Steve. Wouldn't be a bad mentor for the lad!

I wouldn't swap though, think Jose has had his era in England and seems a bit sour these days. A lot less funny than he used to be.

Could that be the Mourinho related chat, rather than us or Oly?

With Jose he raises two questions for me:

1. What’s the longest he’s been at one club?
2. How has that club been impacted short term post his departure?

Jose strikes me as a total EM manager.

You forgot one question:

How many trophies and how many finals have those clubs enjoyed.

I agree with you about him being a total EM manager though.

I posted a couple of weeks ago suggesting Steve should be looking to bring an experienced assistant, such as Redknapp. Not sure Jose would fit this role - would his ego allow it? Still think this is what we need.

IF it were for Forest, sounds like looking for a quick leg-up; raise the profile of the club and attract a higher calibre of player, eg your Tammy Abrahams. He might even work well with a squad effective at low blocks and counters.

Useful short-term then when it does get toxic, as it always does with him, the club can attract a higher profile replacement provided we haven’t really spiralled. Ironically the Special One could damage the genuinely special atmosphere we have. Clearly I’d stick with Cooper and build with him.
