Reece Wylie now there is a name from last year. He was being tapped up by Arsenal and it looked like they were about to offer a 6 figure sum for him. I wonder what happened for that to fall through.

The U23's held Notts County to a 0-0 draw earlier in an hastily arranged friendly, after Notts friendly against Tamworth was postponed.

...hastily arranged?

This to get 'minutes' into the player's legs?

His name is Jake Henry and it gives a bit of insight into how Forest organize and educate our youth players at the Academy. Especially liked the part with a common football vision through out the club - The Forest Way - which will be even more focused on now that we are a Cat 1 Academy. Also that we are not happy just being a Cat 1 Academy we want to be one of the TOP Cat 1 Academies.

Good catch, GaribaldiRED. 'The Forest Way.' Football sex talk. I like the idea that we have a common football vision. Ambitious to be one of the TOP Cat 1s. So Jake worked for New York Red Bull? Interesting. He talks about that 'thirst' for knowledge and learning from different cultures and holding a club identity. Came to Forest on a volunteer basis.

I wonder. Do we carry Forth the 'Clough' spirit in the Academy's footballing philosophy?

The U23 kick off their Premier League 2 campaign tonight against Aston Villa.

Massive step up for them, not had the greatest Pre-season, but a lot of the players have been involved with the first team, so that can only be positive.

It's going to be a struggle, yet it's going to be great for their development.

Good luck lads!

It's going to be a struggle, yet it's going to be great for their development.  (I'm confident our Academy will rise to the challenge.  It's going to be great following their progress!  It will rise the standard of our playing staff which will, in short order, transfer onto the pitch.)

Good luck lads!

...well said, Widdow.

Hopefully this augers an omen for a '1st team' Premier League future, in due course.
