What a crying shame and total own goal if Nottingham Forest lose Nuno Espirito Santo. Very good man-manager and blender of teams. Compassionate, thoughtful man, too, full of strong principles. Nuno’s appointment as head coach is one of the best things to happen to Forest in years.
December 2023: Came in, organised team, made the players believe, kept Forest up. 24/25: Won at Anfield, at Old Trafford, thrashed Brighton 7-0, beat Ange's Spurs home and away, reached third, 3x Manager of the Month, finished seventh, still impressive given widespread pre-season predictions of relegation. Yes, frustration over not holding on for Champions League, that home draw with relegated Leicester so costly. But still qualified for Europe for first time in 30 years. Nuno got the City Ground rocking again.
Nuno signing a new contract felt Forest’s most important business of the summer, even more significant than the talismanic Morgan Gibbs-White staying. 25/26: starts with a win.
But now this presser, which confirmed tensions between Nuno and Evangelos Marinakis. "No, it is not good," Nuno told reporters of his relationship with the owner. Nuno unwise to voice these concerns in public. Forest’s proud owner not the type to appreciate such comments. Marinakis has done a lot of good for Forest, including appointing Nuno. Huge pity, and damaging for the club and team, if their working relationship has broken down, truly a Greek tragedy

To be honest it was a stupid press conference for Nuno to give. why air it and not just sort it out behind the scenes especially with the good start made. Now all the build up will be about that.

I'm not a fan of our owners behaviour but Nuno knew there was nothing positive coming out of those pre match comments. We don't need to love our boss but you don't need to talk like that.
I'm actually fed up with us. Can't be arsed with it anymore. Soap opera.

But perhaps an enquiry if there would be an interest if the job became available.

The only major change or difference at Forest since last season that I am aware of is the introduction of Edu, and looking from the outside in and based on Nuno's various press confrences and what has been said it pretty evident that they see the game and players involved differently, this situation can not continue so one has to go or alternativley accept the others point of view, looks like Nuno is out as EM has more faith in Edu.

I didn't think anything major at the time but there was the comment by Nicolò Schira few days back about Edu being on fire... a bit random to mention him but feels like a positive spin on Edu was already being put out there
