RE: Oliver Glasner - Welcome To Nottingham Forest - Marinakis Red - 06-07-2026 What a monday morning this has been. I love this game. Excited for the future. RE: Oliver Glasner - Welcome To Nottingham Forest - Simon - 06-07-2026 another day another signature change lol. RE: Oliver Glasner - Welcome To Nottingham Forest - Salvatore Matrecano - 06-07-2026 Head coach still, I wondered if he may be old school manager with a wider remit. I expect him to be given a lot of autonomy to run the team in his vision regardless. Anyway Welcome Oliver, the last 9 hours have been pretty full on! RE: Oliver Glasner - Welcome To Nottingham Forest - Paplane - 06-07-2026 Has he been sacked yet? But will the knives be out if he has a poor start? If we start like we did with AP and out of the League cup the pressure will be on. Good luck Olly, I hope you have a stormer. Really happy with this appointment. RE: Oliver Glasner - Welcome To Nottingham Forest - Sausage Roll - 06-07-2026 Enjoying some Crystal Palace fans moaning that we left them off our welcome announcement like they weren't the same fans who paid for a banner slandering Marinakis to be displayed during our match there last season. RE: Oliver Glasner - Welcome To Nottingham Forest - Jimmygordon - 06-07-2026 Alan Pardew was on TalkSport this morning. Just happened to catch it to see if they mentioned Forest between England and the Spurs signings. Just. Said Glasner will be in for bad treatment at Selhurst park signing up for the owner who screwed them over Europa. "Markinakis put a strong complaint into UEFA" and all that crap. He's done with mediocrity, he's come to work for a guy that has ambition beyond balancing the books and surviving another year. RE: Oliver Glasner - Welcome To Nottingham Forest - Squarered - 06-07-2026 Shoot me down in flames, but is anyone else worried we have signed a manager that doesn't fit the squad at his disposal? We've built our time in Prem on playing wingers - Brenan, Elanga, CHO, we signed more last close season in Bakwa, Ndoye, and Hutchinson. It seems Glasner doesn't play with them, but prefers a 3 4 3 formation with wingbacks. I think Neco can do that, possibly Netz, but Aina might struggle? Is Cuiabana sold as he was more of a wingback I understand? Glasner also apparently doesn't like players that take too much time on the ball like Sangare and probably McAtee and likes a mobile striker, which I'm not sure Chris Wood is. Keeper is fine I think Murillo, Milenkovic and Cunha/Aina might form a back 3 with Neco as one wingback. Can see MGW and Hutch/Jesus playing as 10's if we go with two number 10's behind a forward. Not seeing much room for CHO, Ndoye. Could Bakwa be converted to a wingback? I would say wingbacks, centre mids and forward needed. Prob a keeper and maybe a centre half. (Abbot and Morato, not sure???) Lots of questions going round my head, what do you lot think? RE: Oliver Glasner - Welcome To Nottingham Forest - Sausage Roll - 06-07-2026 The accusations of a lack of tactical flexibility and difficulties with breaking down defensive teams concern me. But that was with a different set of players to those he'll have at his disposal with us. Nothing we can do about it as fans anyway other than enjoy the ride and hope for the best. RE: Oliver Glasner - Welcome To Nottingham Forest - Plymouth red - 06-07-2026 The most important thing is he is given time even if he makes a slow start because he has proven to get things right if given time. He is one of the best managers in European football right now. Once again everyone is slagging him off and forest off but while both owner and manager have big personalities they are also both ambitious - more so than dyche, Nuno, Vitor or cooper. I think ange was ambitious in his desire to get forest up the table but was too one dimensional for the premier league and completely unsuited for our squad at that time. Glasner has both pre season, a war chest in which to build a team and i think will be a success. As long as he has time. |
