RE: Nottingham Forest - Aston Villa - Sausage Roll - 16-12-2024 Hoping that whatever made Yates and Murillo go off is minor in both cases and they'll be OK for Saturday. At least we don't have a midweek match whilst Brentford do. RE: Nottingham Forest - Aston Villa - Simon - 16-12-2024 Not sure how accurate the technology is in terms of GPS but I thought about using the players StatSport GPS trackers to determine whether they are offside or not - all players have them, they are in a fixed position in the middle of the players body, can be linked up to a central system to get an instant decision if one is further forward than the other. It would also remove any grey areas about limbs etc. RE: Nottingham Forest - Aston Villa - JWJW - 16-12-2024 (16-12-2024, 02:24 PM)wassy04 Wrote:(16-12-2024, 01:31 PM)JWJW Wrote: Offside should be and only be about the feet. Attackers feet position as opposed to defender. When the semi-auto system comes in it should be ok. Play should be allowed to continue until the Linesman and Ref get an alert......similar to goal line tech. Looked like both rolled their ankles Physio and strapping should sort it RE: Nottingham Forest - Aston Villa - wassy04 - 16-12-2024 (16-12-2024, 03:16 PM)JWJW Wrote:(16-12-2024, 02:24 PM)wassy04 Wrote:(16-12-2024, 01:31 PM)JWJW Wrote: Offside should be and only be about the feet. Also, offside can't be 100% automated unless they change the rules due to players not interfering with play. Plus you still can't account for players that are not interfering with play without changing the rules. If that had been a PL game you wouldn’t have celebrated because you would have been waiting for the the review of whether Lolley committed a foul by winning the ball or whether Walkers nostril hairs were offside.
