I would be interested to see if anyone has analysed how many key VAR decisions go in favour of top 6 sides and how many key decisions aren't given for them.
And see the same information for the bottom 6 sides.

And I would say that's the one of the reasons we've employed Mark Clattenburg to figure all this stuff out.

The obvious point os that it misses when VAR isnt used correctly or isnt used at all eg with the Boly red card, Saturday’s penalty etc etc

Yup, selective stats, purely overturned decisions, and nothing beyond that. Though just looking at overturns of decisions made, it supports the point we are treated unfairly, and what I was only saying the other day to someone.
Referees favour the bigger clubs. They’re incentivised to - not by bribes (hopefully), but by the larger media coverage and bigger fuss if they rule against them. They're actually incentivised, as human beings, to give decisions in favour of the bigger clubs.
If VAR was working properly it would correct those decisions so we should show up as beneficiaries of VAR.
The problem now seems to be a shift to this high bar to overturning the on-field decision. Now refs can continue with their bias but the decisions aren’t getting overturned.
And once again the big clubs have managed to get the system working in their favour.

More people in the media should be saying these things. It was blatent cheating and Dyche is class calling it out, especially as he might indirectly benefit from it. Well done him. I'm fed up with these ex-pros saying diving and gamemanship is clever. Its just cheating.

He's absolutely right and it reflects Clough's mantra towards the game. He wouldn't be having any of it and it reminds me of that interview he did with motty back in the day where he criticised Match of the day for over analysis of mistakes made by refs.
God knows what he would make of the current crop of media pundits falling over themselves to praise a cheat for cheating (seemingly because he had just come off a lengthy Football ban). I wish we could have more stand up to this media gas lighting and call it what it is.

We are guilty ourselves PR, people talking about employing Clattenberg being a way to play to the dark arts, celebrating when MGW buys a free kick, further back Samba was the king of shithousing.

Absolutely. But I guess there is a difference - there have always been gamesmanship but that doesn't make it right and professionals, pundits and managers should call it out, not celebrate it as if its a stroke of genius. I think the appointment of Clattenberg is stupid and it sends out the wrong message. I think var should be scrapped or made more transparent. Ultimately a referee is a human being who will make mistakes like all of us -like all mistakes, they will annoy people and perhaps in the future you have AI refs who are infallible but until then let the ref decide. The Clattenberg appointment feels like a cynical ploy.
Plus I would not compare Samba's shithousery to say diving or trying to gain the advantage by moving the ball while the ref isn't watching - can't imagine snooker commentators celebrating if a player moved the ball slightly to get a better angle on a colour. Furthermore, with shithousery, Samba got as good as he gave and would sometimes be punished for it. It's more comparable to sledging in cricket and a means of getting into your opponents head. That's not the same as deliberately cheating to gain an advantage.
