Forest are looking & pushing for full planning for the stand which means if granted they can start pretty quickly as I believe they have already appointed a main contractor. It appears that the main issue was that it was an initial hybrid application as Forest wanted planning for the adjacent apartments which would help pay for the development when fully sold. This new application/revised submission is now in part for outline planning of the apartments, thereby technically separating the application to enable the ground rebuild to move forward quickly, also they have now reduced the number of flats down from an initial 250 to 170 plus lowered the overall height of the construction.
I see this very much as good news so hopefully the female planning officer in charge at Rushcliffe is a Forest fan and gets on with recommending approval!

The club submitted plans for 170 apartments in November 2019, according to the RBC planning website?

We don't know exactly what the Planning Officers have told the club about what is acceptable and unacceptable really, but obviously, the club (or Benoy) have gone away with the recommendations/criticisms and come up with this latest set of planes. Fingers crossed eh?

I can’t remember what was the initial allocation but first submission was 2 blocks, 2nd submission was a singular tall block, and now this block of varying heights

Also don’t remember this in the initial proposals:

Wonder what commercial opportunity this affords us.

Which tier is that on? Probably for hospitality in the middle tier on match days?

RE: The 2 Infrastructure Projects - stirred - 01-06-2021

I remember the proposed new stadium was part of the UK World Cup bid, beating competition from Derby and Leicester. I just googled Leicester stadium expansion and they’re upping to 42,000 with some spectacular dome like extension. Looks spectacular when looking at it, though from the other angles looks a bit strange, like a growth. Leicester Cysty? Maybe if they did the other 3 sides it would look better, but I would guess anyway that would get the nod as a tournament host.

I felt a bit deflated cos how can you compete with that, but also a bit comforted that ours is a football ground, not pretentious, architects’ wank material. Enjoy what you have and all that eh?

That’s on the first floor.

On the second floor is an even bigger space then that for hospitality which leads out to VIP seating, the business lounge unsurprisingly leads out onto business seating.

The 3rd floor leads onto media seating.

Anybody know if there has been any objections to the new plans yet?

I don't know if any have been lodged yet Sniff, but I wouldn't be suprised if there were some. There are some out there who like to object to plans for the sheer hell of it. Then you have the trolls who like to misbehave and cause problems, so it wouldnt surprise me in the least if there aren't some. It's whether the objections are bone fide or not and are well intentioned that is more important.

Nope only a reiteration from highways England of no objection and no objection from the senior licensing officer for the borough council. You’ll probably see those type of consultees put in their responses first, I assume everyone in the surrounding area will get a letter stating the new plans have gone in and invite them to make a response, so we wait and see.

RE: The 2 Infrastructure Projects - JollyLolly - 07-06-2021

Sniff, I believe that we have moved on from objections as this application has been in the public domain for some time now, its just sorting out minor issues around the original plans, no significant changes to the WFCG development itself just the apartments which is a separate outline planning application. The new stand is a application for full planning which if granted will mean that we have to normally commence construction within a 3 year time limit.

RE: The 2 Infrastructure Projects - Tricky - 18-06-2021

Tongue in cheek question now, with no hidden agenda or anything, just trying to spark a debate whilst there is not much happening at the present time.

Will the new stand be called the Peter Taylor stand? I ask because it would be a bit of a controversial matter if the largest stand at the ground was named after PT, who, despite helping us to win the vast majority of our success in the 70's and 80's, walked away from the club and joined our biggest rivals down the A52 and not named after Cloughie, who stayed loyal to the club up to his retirement.

Would it be wrong to rename the Brian Clough stand the Peter Taylor stand and the new stand be renamed after Cloughie? Or should it be named after Mr Marinakis, who is footing the cost of the stadium redevelopment and maybe rename the Bridford end the Peter Taylor stand?

What are your thoughts?

RE: The 2 Infrastructure Projects - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 18-06-2021

My thoughts are to rename the new stand The Clough and Taylor Stand and rename the current BC stand to something else.

Why not rename it the "Fawaz" stand  :D

RE: The 2 Infrastructure Projects - Sausage Roll - 18-06-2021

The Mowatt and Carvalho Stand has a nice ring to it.
