MGW is playing every minute straight from signing for us, Dennis is getting scraps despite getting 10 goals and 6 assists in a relegated side.

For me to give us the best chance of scoring the required goals (40) whilst providing some control in midfield I would switch to a 4-3-3 (double pivot) to enable the full backs to still play high.

Henderson

Williams
Worrall
Niakhate
Lodi

Kouyate
O’Brien
Mangala

MGW
Awoniyi
Johnson

I like it Reds73, just swap Williams for Aurier and jobs a gud un.

So much open for debate. I too have had reservations about Williams. I know very little about Aurier but he has prem experience and at least puts Williams under pressure for his place. I also think Lodi needs to step up, we seemed to get more attacking threat from Toffolo for my money. I guess we have to have faith in Cooper as a coach that he can get a tune out of the squad whilst we still have winnable games left.

Agree Lodi seems to be getting an easy ride, particulalry when you consider his decision making for fulham 3rd.

Neither rwb or lwb seem to be an attacking threat at the moment.

Do we know the answer to the thread title yet?

I don't think we do.

Maybe an easier way to look at it is who are the 16 players out of our squad that should be either starting or substituted in for most games.
As people keep saying its a squad game.

A quick go at it

Henderson
Williams Lodi Aurier
Worrall Mckenna Niakhate (if fit)
OBrien Yates Freuler Kouyate
MGW Lingard
Awoniyi Surridge Johnson

Pick any permutation you like from them. The 2 unlucky ones to miss out for me are Mangala and Dennis, I realise a few wont agree with that.

Did great against Spurs too.

If we had a game tomorrow he would start for sure.

RE: Our Best Starting 11 - DeesideRed - 18-11-2022

I still maintain faith Awoniyi will come good.

Hope so.

Steve doesn't think he's good enough to be a regular starter at the moment but he sees the potential in him.

He will be working hard with him during this break that is for sure and we will hopefully see a better player when we restart.
Awoniyi needs work but Steve does think that he can polish him up.

Definitely has the vibe of an Origi... has all the attributes but can he cut it?

Steve thinks he can get a tune out of him in time but the proof will be in the pudding.
