RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 20-10-2025 Is it worth pointing out (probably not) that Dyche took over at Burnley from Eddie Howe who had 2 seasons there but couldn't get them promoted, he didn't even get them top 6. Then Dyche took over from Howe and got them promoted in his first season. RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - Sausage Roll - 20-10-2025 I'm more invested with this appointment than with the Postecoglou one. I get the wish to move to more progressive football but I don't think he was the man to do it. Dyche - should it happen - is what we need right here right now. Yeah its much easier to see a path to how this works. Not to mention the squad is so much better equipped for Dyche than Ange. RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - Simon - 20-10-2025 I'll just be glad when this whole scenario is over and we can hopefully start picking up some wins. Don't think we will ever hear the full story of what went on behind the scenes but for Nuno to agree a new contract and then behave the way he did was poor unless terms of that contract were not met. Ange always felt like the wrong appointment (for the right reason?) we clearly want to move to a more progressive style of play but crikey why anyone thought Ange was the right man i dont know. The owner is being criticised for how the Nuno scenario played out - fairly or not, but I feel he has acted quickly to correct the mistake he made in appointing Ange which is a good thing (though perhaps could have been done 2 weeks ago !). Dyche isnt what could be considered a sexy appointment (in any way lol) but is perhaps the right one for where we are right now. If he can unite the players and fans (which Ange certainly couldn't) and make us harder to beat we might hopefully be able to enjoy Saturdays (and Thursdays) again. Have to say I am looking forward to Thursday night now where I was dreading it at the weekend. Bring the noise and lets see where we get to. RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - JWJW - 20-10-2025 Oh no............. We will be back to low block and "hoofball"........lots of long balls over the top, long throws.......defender just kicks it aimlessly into the opposition half and waits for it to come back again........... I am filled with dread now.......... RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - Fumanchew - 20-10-2025 (20-10-2025, 01:07 PM)JWJW Wrote: Oh no............. Apparently that’s what man United were doing yesterday, I think others have pointed out that there’s been a culture shift and we moved away from it at the wrong time. Fix the defence and let the array of talented attacking stock do what they’re good at Saw some of his formations being 451 could we have Morgan/anderson/luiz as a three and the two wingers? RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - DeesideRed - 20-10-2025 Think they'll get a really good reception Thursday and it'll get everyone pulling in same direction again. I'm pleased for Dyche, its a job he's coveted for some time and a chance to prove he's more than Burnley and a financially broken Everton. RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - Floridared - 20-10-2025 It's not been announced officially yet has it although it seems a done deal. I didn't want postacoglu but supported him to the (near ) end. Im going on record that I don't want Dyche. His record in general is poor. There is a reason he has been at the dole office for so long. No one wants his brand of football. He is not Ems first choice Im guessing the likes of Mancini and Silva were well ahead in the pecking order. We are using a band aid to fix a wound that needs stitches. Yes I know I am saying this before his team has kicked a ball and hear the cries of " give him a chance" Our midfield players will constantly be in the treatment room having therapy to their necks after constantly watching the ball sail overhead from Sels in a vain attempt to find Woody up front. Having said that I don't want him to fail because if he fails then the team fails. Good luck Sean, I look forward to the pelters I am going to get when you keep us up and get into the Europa league final. RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - Jimmygordon - 20-10-2025 Sorry, but that's complete bollocks Florida RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - Fumanchew - 20-10-2025 (20-10-2025, 01:50 PM)Floridared Wrote: It's not been announced officially yet has it although it seems a done deal. Our equaliser against the danish team came from sels hoofing it up under pressure I get people are allowed concerns but f*****g hate revisionism and only picking out the bits of last season they want to matter. For example people ignoring how dire we were by the end of last season RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - Jimmygordon - 20-10-2025 We played lovely passing football on Saturday for 30 minutes. It was something to behold at times. |
