Nothing devastating is going to happen.
The clubs finances are being managed, the FFP rules are not meant to cause financial detriment. Selling a player 8 weeks after the close of the period to secure and addition +10 million is a good decision, in the interests of the club and cannot be punished. EM also converted 11 million into equity a month ago, further evidence of managing to remain within FFP.

Lets assume you bought something from Currys (why would you do that?), say an expensive cooker or TV and you took it out over say 3 years. You would be charged interest based on the amount the repayment was spread over.

There is interest charged on the loan so effectively we are worse off longer term.

So we agree to Spurs owing us £32M over the next 3 years, which is money we need now. So we have to take a loan out, to generate the cash required now. We have to pay interest on the loan, I get that, but do Spurs pay interest on the remaining amount owed to us or are they sitting on the remainder interest free?
The way I understood it from what Kieran Maguire tweeted is that Spurs pay the bank the full transfer amount in instalments, the bank pay us less than the full amount up front and they keep the difference to cover the interest.

But my little brain keeps coming back to the fact that Spurs are not paying US any interest on the outstanding amount owed to us. In other words, we are set to lose out with regards the interest owed to the bank, but Spurs only pay the outstanding amount back to the bank.
I confess to not knowing a great deal about banking or finance, but surely, we shouldnt be left out of pocket because we are owed money by Spurs? If that is the case, no wonder Daniel Levy is so loaded!!!
The deal with Macquarie Bank is similar to a Factoring deal.
The Bank pay us the money up front and Spurs repay in instalments; we will get charged between 1 and 5 % - I would guess with the amount involved and with it being very low risk the rate will be closer to 1% than it will to 5%.
This is a common arrangement used by thousands of Companies on a daily basis.
And its much more cost effective than managing cash flow with an overdraft or a loan.

Can someone tell me what we have allegedly done wrong here? If we terminated his contract, so what?
It was somewhat dense of us if we didn’t realise we were going to break the loan limit though.

They are criticising us for putting on our website it was a loan deal until the end of the season. The Premier league have it registered as a loan too. Lots of confusion around it.
Cannot see anything coming from this.

Like every club in the PL we are in the public eye now and everything is scrutinised more closely. There is a wider point about the media in general looking for negative news and ignoring positive news. That goes for literally every walk of life, not just football.
