RE: Stevie Cooper - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 18-10-2022 Another way to look at this is to say that if Cooper didn't rule out signing Spence, Davies, Garner and Zinc then there wouldn't have been a need for Dennis, Kouyate, Lingard and Aurier. RE: Stevie Cooper - Salvatore Matrecano - 18-10-2022 Yes thats a fair point Sniff and fits with the argument we were making yesterday. RE: Stevie Cooper - Paplane - 18-10-2022 Firstly it seems entirely semsible to bring in more senior pros to support the youngsters. Why the likes of Aurier and Kouyate are being talked about in a negative way is beyond me. Whoever was responsible for that I applaud. Re the sackings of the scouts, we just dont know what their brief was. If they reported in and said that 100% Awoniyi is better than Davis, Williams better than Spence, Freuler better than Garner and so all the former should be signed, and the latter not, then they deserved to be sacked imo. But if they were simply presenting the these players as options for the club and others made the final decision then their sacking seems harsh. We dont know and will probably never know. When stories like this from Unwin come out its always the result of someone within briefing them. And that someone will have a certain agenda. For me, this is someone preparing the ground for the sacking of Cooper. It could well be later tonight. RE: Stevie Cooper - ozzyten10 - 18-10-2022 I agree pap. The scene is being set. RE: Stevie Cooper - ozzyten10 - 18-10-2022 I also wonder if Dane is having a bit of self preservation if he is briefing journalists. You can tell I think from team selections who cooper wanted. Williams was thought to have a higher ceiling than Djed. Toff and obrien cast aside for Lodi and freuler. MGW ever present. RE: Stevie Cooper - DeesideRed - 18-10-2022 Which is annoying when you consider both were excellent signings for us imo. RE: Stevie Cooper - RyanR - 18-10-2022 I think Cooper’s time is rapidly running out. I don’t see what the vision is anymore. We can’t be playing every game hoping for a 0-0 draw. Marinakis isn’t going to accept that and neither should the fans. RE: Stevie Cooper - wassy04 - 18-10-2022 (18-10-2022, 09:22 PM)RyanR Wrote: I think Cooper’s time is rapidly running out. Draw away at 6th place is generally considered a good result no? More defensive subs than attacking.. that won't win you a game.. if Brightons forwards turned up that would of been another 4.0 sadly.. we were lucky to grind that out.. cant decided if its a performance from the hughton era or megson one RE: Stevie Cooper - wassy04 - 18-10-2022 (18-10-2022, 09:32 PM)Paplane Wrote:(18-10-2022, 09:31 PM)wassy04 Wrote:(18-10-2022, 09:22 PM)RyanR Wrote: I think Cooper’s time is rapidly running out. He's tightened us up post Leicester, this is exactly what any new manager would've done too. RE: Stevie Cooper - Salvatore Matrecano - 18-10-2022 Yes exactly, if we had sacked Cooper and brought in Dyche who had produced the same performance he would be getting praised. |
