RE: The 2 Infrastructure Projects - Paplane - 27-02-2020

Bad news on the planning application.

The determination period has been extended to up till the 31st March. This is because the scheme has had to be re-consulted due to the redesign of the flats. This is the normal course of events on any planning application when the submitted scheme is fundamentally changed. I'm amazed this extension wasn't triggered 2 weeks ago.

There is a chance that the design team could be working up the detail (at risk) so that the stand work can begin in the summer, but how do the club handle the ticket sale issues with a decision that late? What if they relocate all the main standers and then the work cannot start?

I reckon the solution will be to postpone for a year. I've been saying all along the programme looks tight as the planning was submitted late for a summer start. We'll find out over the next week or so.

The club had to put forward they were serious about starting this summer but I always thought it was optimistic, most clubs have had issues with planning for new stands and stadia. I think Tottenham took 7 years before the first spade hit the ground. Im confident it will happen this year or next.

Damn. Hope it can get sorted and we can start this year.

A bit of an update in the Post, but from the Athletic.

If only the ground development planning permission were through - they could start now.

I did think that too, its prime time to be getting the building work done however will builders be allowed to continue working soon. Cant exactly build from home!

With the huge knock on effect the corona virus is having, financially could this possibly put a stop to the development for a while?

If they do manage to start playing but behind closed doors then they might as well start ASAP. Assuming there's builders available and willing of course

If that were to be the case, I seriously doubt they would be allowed to commence work whilst the season is still active. Assuming the Authorities say after April 3rd that it is ok to play to a public crowd again and the Main Stand has been turned into a demolition site, then the club would have to re-apply for a safety certificate from Rushcliffe Council due to the changes in safety standards and additional health risks and hazards as a result. This could take weeks to come through, possibly beyond the season end, in which case the club could be forced to play at alternative venues?

RE: The 2 Infrastructure Projects - Duncan Mckenzie - 15-03-2020

Surely they can't start work until a final decision has been made on whether the season will restart or not.

RE: The 2 Infrastructure Projects - Paplane - 15-03-2020

The way things are going there wont even be a planning board meeting to approve the application. No planning approval, no building work.
