He isn't a premier league striker and if he played for any other club in the world other than Botafogo we would have had zero interest in signing him. I think that's a good point tbf, I look at Liverpool where he was meeting crosses as he was sharp and getting there in front of VVD ("THE WORLDS GREATEST EVER") and Konate yet now he's not quite as sharp. Id forgotten about the CWC and it's a great shout that he's dropping off because of that RE: Sean Dyche, Stoney And Woany - wassy04 - 18-01-2026 (18-01-2026, 05:09 PM)DeesideRed Wrote:(18-01-2026, 11:22 AM)Paplane Wrote:(18-01-2026, 11:17 AM)Sniffer Dog (Admin) Wrote:(18-01-2026, 11:07 AM)Trailer Park Tom Wrote: I accept that we aren't creating a lot of chances right now but Jesus is our weak link at the moment. Not just that, he's played every game since then starting 11 after having no preseason. No surprise he's burned out by now, we desperately need someone to give he a rest and a chance to recharge. RE: Sean Dyche, Stoney And Woany - Trailer Park Tom - 18-01-2026 I have no issues with any of the counters people are putting forward, Jesus has made decent/good contributions in some games. I'm not saying he is shit. Although the Club World Cup was a dubious competition with some pretty poor teams involved. But I ask you guys two questions; Not including the attacking wingers for tactical rotation reasons, which player/position would we most benefit from changing personnel long-term? Did we sign Jesus because of our relationship with John Texlor? I don't think i'm being too harsh really. He's scored 1 goal in 20 odd league games and we trade players with Texlors group of clubs for financial reasons. I'm not saying he is S**t. Eh? Bayern, Real Madrid, PSG, Atletico, Chelsea, Man City, Dortmund, Juventus, Inter. And that's just the European clubs! Some might not have been 100% committed, which I suspect is your point, but there were top clubs involved. RE: Sean Dyche, Stoney And Woany - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 18-01-2026 I think 8 goals for Jesus so far is pretty good going. He had no rest in the summer, barely had a pre season or knew his team mates, a young lad in a new country and in the toughest league in the world. And lets not forget how isolated he is. I am not convinced Wood would have more than 8 goals this season with the way our Striker is isolated. I'm not saying he is S**t. Mamalodi Sundowns, Ulsan, Urawa Reds, Monterry, Wydad AC, ES Tunis, Aucland City, Al Ahly, Al Ain. And that's without the MLS Teams. Why are people so desperate to defend this guy? :Funny: Brennan Johnson went 3/4 games without doing anything under Cooper and people were saying his was shite and shouldn't play. Same with Elanga last season. Jesus pretty much has Emmanuel Dennis's form. RE: Sean Dyche, Stoney And Woany - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 18-01-2026 Jesus has 8 goals not one. I'm not saying he is S**t. He's many miles better than Dennis but you do have a point. Johnson, Elanga and even MGW have a dry spell and people are screaming for them to be dropped. Maybe it’s because he clearly works hard and also that we have little to zero alternative. But I stand by the point he isn’t a natural lone CF and needs some help up there. Desperate lengths to defend EM. 1 goal in 20 RE: Sean Dyche, Stoney And Woany - stirred - 18-01-2026 Very harsh take. The actual sides Jesus played against were PSG, Seattle, Atletico Madrid and Palmeiras, and he scored twice and played well. We lump the ball into the box and don’t create many chances. He does a good job at hold up play, much better at that than Wood, but we haven’t created chances like we did for Wood last season. RE: Sean Dyche, Stoney And Woany - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 18-01-2026 What are you talking about Tom? I haven't mentioned EM at all. |
