RE: Managers Interview Post Match - Strawberry Avenger - 02-04-2019 It is fair to bunch them together as the poor transfer business was done from the same source. It proved to be short sighted. They all dried up at different stages. Car was the best of a poor bang for buck bunch of lightweights. SA. As opposed to the rest of the team that dominated the winter months?! You don’t think his drop in form could’ve been a wider team issue? Shall we say winter starts in November, he played 4 games: 2 assists 1 goal 8 points. The team then dropped off and we went on a bad run so by my estimation you’re blaming our entire collapse on carvalho? Or willing to accept that other players also played worse too? RE: Managers Interview Post Match - the jock - 02-04-2019 alan browne of preston has 11 goals from midfield this season and 5 assists. probably cost us a third of what we spent on carvalho and much more suited to the rough and tough of the championship. No it’s not they are three different players you can assess them on their own merits. The other two have been poor, although I wouldn’t really call Dias lightweight. He got about quite well, it was his lack of any end product whatsoever that cost him! Good for them, however unless you have a time machine we’re stuck with what we’ve got. I’m not claiming he’s been good value for £13m (although when you sign a young player I’d say you need more than one season to measure that). We obviously would’ve been better off spending it elsewhere . However we’re stuck with him, the point is not to hold it against him. Just because he’s not a £13m player doesn’t mean he doesn’t add value and doesn’t automatically mean he’s a write off RE: Managers Interview Post Match - Paplane - 02-04-2019 (02-04-2019, 12:18 PM)wassy04 Wrote: alan browne of preston has 11 goals from midfield this season and 5 assists. probably cost us a third of what we spent on carvalho and much more suited to the rough and tough of the championship. Yep, I would doubt he'll ever be transferred for £13m ever again in his career, but he has quality and can do a job for us next season IMO. I thought he did OK when he came on on Saturday. When he's on the pitch he links up superbly with Osborn with one touch passing to create space in tight areas. For Carvalho we paid 13 plus million and we are stuck with him, the other two we just paid a loan fee, one is off already and the other at the end of the season. If Carvalho was on loan similar to the other two, he wouldnt have played half the games he played ... RE: Managers Interview Post Match - Kylos247 - 02-04-2019 Although it's 13m spread over 5 years, so to me it was good business he's not set the city ground on fire yet. But give the lad time, he's more suited to the prem which I'm sure was their intentions. The only thing that bothers me is that wolves got neves for 16m and he hit the ground running instantly. But it took them a couple of seasons of rebuilding. Next season will be interesting. Why??? We live in a democracy!!! It’s up to the players and managerial tactics to give us fans(that actually attend) something to get behind the lads and then to be able to cheer about. Us fans can only do so much, it’s up to the team to do the rest. And no I didn’t boo, but haven’t got a problem with anyone who has. What’s trying harder got to do with it?? They all kind of try depending on there positions and individual instructions. Well Osborn certainly doesn’t do it for the team, on Saturday and most weeks he might aswell have had an opposition shirt on! Top half championship you need more than just putting the bloody effort in, that’s league one standard where he belongs! Carvalho has been ineffectual???? Do you go to many games???? You obviously never saw us playing when we’d just started getting into our rytham with Grabban firing on all cylinders, Carvalho just behind being brilliant, Lolley actually being consistent with Cash on the other side and Yacob And Colback protecting the back four with Osborn absolutely no where to be seen. Then it all went to pot because of AK’s pathetic mardyness. But I get it, because Carvalho isn’t English nor runs around like an headless chicken ‘putting the effort in’ you just don’t rate him and are blind to actual talent. |
