Was thinking the very same thing yesterday.
A show of intent now on the club's part, maybe a decent signing or a even just vote of confidence from the chairman, might just galvanise the club and the players and give us a bit of a push to go on a run and get us back in contention.
AK's preferred back 4 will be back for Reading. A win there and the season's back on.
I think I posted in the match thread that 'this' game was a battle for Forest's future.
And, hopefully, a Ferguson comparison is warranted.

Hmm. Friction. The difference between a 2 and a half year mandate and a top 2 this season mandate?
Maybe the new director coming in.
Maybe friction over the transfer window. It needs more than 'two' players. 3-4 minimum. I'd like 5-6.
The bringing in of Car' for £13 million had a lopsided effect to the recruitment of the 1st team squad. But with transfers, some you win, some you lose. That means that Forest need to go again in January to help the back line which was 'cheaply' assembled compared to the midfield area. And at times this season, it's showed.
The CHs and keeper have been less than convincing at dealing with crosses at times and the lack of depth at LB has bitten at least twice and more so in the earlier part of the season where Os' was clearly targeted by the opposition. It wasn't until Jack came in at LB that Forest began to have more bite in the back line and look more solid and yes, Dawson at CH made the back line more cohesive with some colossal headers.

To possible gather a reason to terminate his contract. To put the pressure on. ...and wait for Aitor to make a mistake. Either to get rid of him or make him/the team perform better.
It may be just the 'boss' prerogative of seeing what I'm getting for my money. The hierarchy have the right to have a look at all aspects of running the club and to keep on top of things to see that they are running harmoniously.
If a player has passed comment onto the the Football director that all is not happy in the camp, (Eg. Several of the 'not in the 1st team' players who may be having a sulk...), then they'll have a duty of care to investigate.
Before this culture of players 'not playing' gets toxic (as it get around the Preston game with cliques? Or 'dark forces' according to Worrall) the transfer window needs to be used to shake the bag and keep the squad on its toes.

And. Did Aitor bring in Dias? Car? Gon'?
Two of them have been less than amazing given the outlay.
The point I'm making is. Aitor vs Hierarchy signings? I guess it's done together...
...however, when it's Aitor's neck on the line. Was it 'his' singing Dias that didn't deal with the two goals vs Norwich? Is he playing a player he didn't sign?
Forest are going for a different off the field model. Ie. An actual backroom staff. But it must come with 'some' friction?
