RE: Stevie Cooper - Salvatore Matrecano - 03-10-2022 Whats a big name player? Colback? He has nearly 200 appearances in the PL Which big name player hasnt he played? Which so called big name player of the new signings has looked good when given the chance anyway? Sorry if I am shooting the messenger but to me it seems like you are being drip fed bits of info from the hierarchy so it looks like Cooper is the bad guy when he is sacked/walks. RE: Stevie Cooper - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 03-10-2022 Perhaps you are right SM I never thought of that. Fingers crossed for 3 points tonight so we can all talk about something more positive tomorrow COYR. RE: Stevie Cooper - tugger2018 - 03-10-2022 “ surely nobody is stupid enough to write us off ?” RE: Stevie Cooper - wassy04 - 03-10-2022 (03-10-2022, 09:53 AM)Salvatore Matrecano Wrote: Agree Howe or Potter if either of them would give up their jobs. I think Cooper actually has a decent shot at the England job if he wanted it. Similar profile to Southgate when he got the job. Howe and Potter are not taking it right now. Rodgers is a possibility too as will likely be available. Obviously depends if he wants to stay in club management, same as with Steve. Cooper is 4th favourite with bookies, behind Potter, Howe and Poch (really? Why would he want it?) Obviously others that are options too if they want to go down the English route but Steve is definitely in the hat. I dont think most of the main stream media have realised yet that he's Welsh! RE: Stevie Cooper - wassy04 - 03-10-2022 I'm going to make a bold prediction, I think he'll still be here next weekend. Well no one can accuse the Greeks of being trigger happy if he is because lose next week and I reckon we're down. Actually forget that, I think were down tonight. I reckon we'll get about 14, 15 points unless something changes. RE: Stevie Cooper - ozzyten10 - 03-10-2022 We do have some good players but so do the other 19 most financed sides in the world. Please give him 12 games… RE: Stevie Cooper - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 04-10-2022 In a way Cooper is a victim of his own success. We were not supposed to go up last season it wasn't in the script. I feel for the bloke I really do but I can't see anyway at all that he can turn things around now. I see zero evidence. He overachieved and got us up too early and now he's paying the price. Sad but true. RE: Stevie Cooper - Sausage Roll - 04-10-2022 (04-10-2022, 09:17 AM)Sniffer Dog (Admin) Wrote: In a way Cooper is a victim of his own success. It does feel like we went up too early. Not just on the pitch but off it too - we just seem under-prepared through the whole club. RE: Stevie Cooper - Reds73 - 04-10-2022 I really do feel for Steve in this situation. He knows 1000 times more about football than I do p, but surely he has made a number of bad judgement calls which have cost us points. 1) we were never going to get away with playing 2 in midfield against teams who simply have better players than us. 2) we have bought 4 CB’s in and he chose the 2 slowest on the books as a pairing for last nights game. 3) he is adamant he wants Brennan, MGW and Jesse starting together. It’s simply far too much of a luxury that we can’t afford. 4) he has been slow to react in game when we were in front and needed to see games out - Bournemouth and Fulham. I understand it’s a tough job with so many new players, it I just think there is a better tune you can get from this squad.
