Oic, yes you're right then.

Didn't want to start a new thread, didn't seem worth it.
I'm shocked at the collapse of Huddersfield, they were so close and now it must all seem so far away for them.
Bottom of the Championship.

Also, what's happened to Boro and West Brom?

Re Boro, they made, what was it, £20m from Djed and have sold Tavernier for £12m and yet they're right down there 4th from bottom. £32m can buy you an awful lot of championship footballers.

This is the PL thread chaps.

Who cares about the Championship?

I do worry about it being another false dawn. That Liverpool team was definitely weak, especially in midfield, really can't get carried away despite it being a fantastic result! Fingers crossed and we start to establish ourselves!

It wasn't the best Liverpool team I've ever seen for sure but they're still a damn sight better than the likes of Bournemouth, Wolves, West Ham etc who we've played badly against & lost. I think the green shoots of hope come more from how we played rather than who we played. Do agree we shouldn't get over excited just yet though, as tempting as it is.

Yes, its easy to get carried away. But that Liverpool central midfield of Jones, Fabinho and Carvalho looks bang average at best on paper, many teams have bullied them.

The other point is teams will expect and work out the low block and compact midfield we now play. There are ways round it and we can’t except it to work every game. We are definitely in a battle but at least we know we can now compete.

I know it hurts doesn't it, had we just switched to 433 a few games earlier maybe we'd be looking much more secure.

Still on the plus side we were relegated and adrift before last weekend, so it's exciting to suddenly be back in it!

If we'd lost on Saturday we'd now be 5 points adrift with a trip to Arsenal to come.

That would have been grim.
Thank God that we won then!

Article in Athletic today. 19 points between top and bottom, this is smallest gap since 2008-09.
Going to be an interesting season.

RE: The Premier League 2022/23 - Portchester Tricky - 28-10-2022

I didn't like their relegation predictions. Can't say I agree with them.

Who did they predict?

RE: The Premier League 2022/23 - Portchester Tricky - 28-10-2022

3 of them had us relegated. There were only 3 pundits. I think it was Bournemouth and Wolves to go down with us.
I quite enjoyed the read, until I got to the end of the article !!
