Bollocks - this is the man who screams at midfielders for crossing the half way line…

Sorry, but he has been royally screwed. Whoever manages us has a mammoth task on their hands to keep us up.

The squad isn't totally S**t, but it is lacking so many core fundamental attributes that it is vulnerable as hell.

What core fundamental attributes?

Really does he?

Maybe it would have helped if Garner didn’t spend the match giving the ball away in his own half.

What core fundamental attributes?

Strength, pace, leadership, balance etc.

We ain't got a target man, or anyone who can hold the ball up or bully opposition defenders. Only Worrall is a real captain in the side. None of the attacking players would be favourite for a ball over the top. Most our players have a good attribute or two (e.g. Carvalho can pass, Grabban can score) but there's no real all-rounders who balance the side out etc.

It's just basic Championship dynamics which managers like Davies, Warnock and Wilder build teams around.

I think Hughton's loans last year showed he was attempting to do that (e.g. Murray bought a genuine cross-to option in the box, Krovi was a way better all round AM than Carvalho etc.)

I was actually feeling a little sorry for him and actually thought that at half time he would get stuck into them and they'd come out in the second half and we would end up with the three points, how wrong was I.

He has to go and go now, we are shocking, I cannot see anything from Hughton that tells me that he will turn this around.

RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - zicorice - 12-09-2021

Positives:
- 40 games to try to save our Championship status.
- No red or yellow cards
- Nicely worked goal.
- New Full backs were not too bad.

Negatives
- Outplayed, outfought and outthought
- Don't think Hughton is going to be able to turn this around.
- More GK issues today.
- Alot of empty seats (not as many as Sheep mind).
- No goal threat again.
- Garner taking time to reach his former level (understandably).
- It's hard to see where a win is coming from.
- If/when axe falls we have to start all over again....again.

Edit: Ah crap. Just noticed wrong thread. Apologies.

Also, rumour that CH has gone. Sad, but little surprise if true. A decent man who could not turn the Good ship NFFC. My feeling is as he couldn't do it, who the hell can????? John Terry? Please no.

Strength: Worrall, McKenna and Yates? All strong lads on and off the ball?

Pace: Lowe, Spence, Mighten, Lolley and Johnson? All quick on and off the ball?

Leadership: Worrall, McKenna and Yates are all vocal leaders. Grabban, Lolley, Colback are all professional leaders held in high regard by their peers.

Balance: we’re lacking something different up top but there’s competition in all other places. Who knows what Silva may yet bring.

The likes of Warnock, McCarthy and Wilder are pragmatic managers that use specific tools and stretch them to their max.

If we have weaknesses the manager needs to be pragmatic and adapt.

He’s gotta go for me. Absolutely bored the arse off of me.  There’s no fresh ideas, and no progress of any form what so ever and sometimes you just have to accept it and take the hit. That time has come for me.

RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Portchester Tricky - 12-09-2021

It seems to me that, irrespective of who our manager is, everytime we come up against Sh*thouse teams like Cardiff, we always lose.
If we accept that every Season this is the fixture we can do nothing about that, and carry on and beat the remaining teams in the Division by playing attractive attacking football, then by the law of averages we will do OK. I am sure that even the promoted teams of the last few years would have not had good results against the " Cardiff's " of this division.
This is why the Championship can be so brutal. The anti football of Warnock and Mc Carthy have become the norm amonst certain Championship teams.
We need to be more like Brentford, who managed to get out of this Sh*thouse league by being more adventurous.

RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Widdow - 12-09-2021

I wonder if we are still the envy of the premier league having Hughton as our manager? I don’t have to say he should go, I was clear from the beginning he should never have been appointed. Statistically the worst manager and he is officially as we have had the worst start for 100 years, even I didn’t think he would be that bad. The owners continue run the club poorly and are reaping what they sow and doing an even worse job than fawaz.

Genuine question.

When was our last league win?
