I regularly watch the press conferences on you tube each week but have stopped doing so because I find the guy just so boring to listen to. He takes 15/20 minutes to say what Nuno did in 5. When he started suggesting it was some kind of karma that we didn't win last week at Palace it made me think he just rambles on a lot about complete and utter shite. If I'm thinking that then maybe the players are too? And i'm not sure he has the regard for the club and us fans like other managers have before him. I don't like that either. He walked at Palace and didn't seem to have any regard for them either.

But most importantly, as far as I can see it, he's been handed a side that was performing pretty well at the end of last season, taken it apart and made it less good. I accept we may still be in his 'slow start phase', but calling him some kind of special manager is a bit too much for me, based on what I've seen so far. I have this real worry that he got lucky at Palace with the players that were there when he was (Eze, Lacroix, Mateta Guehi etc), he won the fa cup final by a single goal after Henderson really should have been sent off. And he won the conference league which, for a prem club, was harder not to win than to win it.

Just to add on this one, whilst I do agree with the point on the FA Cup final red card etc. Think you're ignoring two key points, one those guys you refer to are all guys he either brought in or brought the best out of. Mateta in particular had largely struggled before he played for Glasner, Lacroix was his Diomande, Guehi/Eze/Wharton were obviously talented but guys he brought through and nurtured. Not like he was just buying finished articles and playing them.

Secondly, whilst we did well end of last year under Pereira, that is true. There is a 110m shaped hole in the midfield that would've made it incredibly difficult to recreate those levels. Anderson was absolutely the key to making that 442 work that Pereira was playing and I just can't see how we'd have been able to replicate it without him. Although I do think we'd probably have more points right at this moment, longer term I'm less convinced.

Glasner certainly has a proven higher ceiling as a coach, we just have to stick with it rather than constantly churning managers for short term fixes. Even if it fails, it's worth the risk for the potential reward. You yourself are openly saying being in the PL sucks as we're always in relegation battles and we know a key reason for that is managerial turnover. This is the one we stick with and hope it settles.

Fact of the day:

In the last four years Oliver Glasner has won the Eurooa League, the Conference League, the FA Cup and the Charity Shield.

He hasn't won anything at Nottingham Forest because he has been here for only seven games.

What's taking him so bleeding long?

Good comeback Wassy and I agree with much of what you said. Glasner did pretty well at Palace despite never being backed there by their useless, unambitious owners so deserves some credit for that. But saying that he only managed 10th, 12th and 15th place places there in the prem. Had Hendo been sent off in that final and they'd lost, would people be saying he's a top manager? Personally, I don't think they would. Clearly their ownership didn't think they would win anything as they failed to set up the blind trust.

Listen, I'm not saying he useless and needs sacking, but it just annoys me when pundits and fans describe him as being some kind of super coach who we're lucky to have landed. So far he's not been as good as Pereira or Dyche, and he's a way off Nuno.

Said this earlier on the forum Pay, OG is an OK coach but not really better then Vitor, Nuno or Coops, I am not sure why elite has been attached to him as he certainly (to date) not in the top ten coaches in the PL or Europe. I see many mention that OG teams start slowly WHY? no new manager bounce then, is it because he is to rigid or methodical in his playing style? comes into a new team and changes to much with existing players, why not work on a halfway house basis, see what HAS been working and then slowly tansition to his own prefered playing system/style?

Can someone remind me when Vitor, Nuno and Cooper won the Europa League, Conference League and the FA Cup.

Good reply Wassy. Not digging you out either Pap, don’t agree with much of what you say but understand why you are saying it.

I remain hopeful for Glasner, just can’t help thinking it was all so unnecessary from what happened when Nuno had us in a Champions League place.

Vitor and Nuno had their chances last year but didn't take them for very different reasons!

You make a good point though, I think there has been little discussion of Glasner's time before Palace.
A quick read of his Wiki page suggests after early success at LASK & Wolfsburg, he moved to Frankfurt. In his first season, they started slowly and were in the relegation zone in November before going on a 6 game winning streak and getting up to 6th. More importantly they won the Europa League beating West Ham and Barcelona.
Next season, they got to last 16 CL and reached the german cup final. These are definitely top manager stats incomparable with anyone we've had in recent times including Nuno.

What's the point in doing anything other than fully supporting Glasner? There are clear signs the team is getting better, there is an easy argument that the performances so far could have got better results in every game. I main missing ingredient is lack of goals, and I believe with the amount of good chances we are creating that will change and we will go on a good run.

We need one to go in off a knee or shin, or something like that to get us going. Once the duck is broken especially at home then the pressure reduces and maybe the attempts are taken with calmer heads.

RE: Oliver Glasner - Welcome To Nottingham Forest - Fumanchew - 21-10-2026

Only sels (the obvious one) neco Murillo mcatee and Ndoye have started all 7 prem games for different reasons. Suppose I could look at starters since the window closed and then that’s just an extra two delap and Munoz we need to nail down that 11

Precisely, he is an elite manager who has won things at different clubs, none of which have been anything other than mid table fodder
