RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - JollyLolly - 15-08-2021 Alf, was it not rumoured that EH applied for the Forest job last year before they appointed eventually CH? Wrong manager pick, salary requested may have been the deciding factor with CH out of work for 18 months or so and EH just after managing in the premier, we do know that our ex CEO liked value for money. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - SSM - 15-08-2021 I can totally see the rationale in appointing Hughton when they did. I just think the dynamic of the club has changed now whereby Hughton is the odd man out. He's shown zero willing to adapt to the change himself. He's stubborn chap and it's probably why he's had the relative success that he has. I don't see it happening here though now we have had what appears to be a big shift in dynamic and principles. The issue we have is, do we make change now, and take a risk with a new man, new ideas that align with Murphy and where the club want to go? I think what they're probably hoping is Hughton gets us 'comfortable' and we don't tank into another relegation battle. It's a tough situation. But I don't foresee Hughton being here this time next season, not a for minute. Hughton wants his team, but we're looking to build one that is at odds with what he likes. It's a matter of time, but probably not imminent. He signed a 2 year contract so isn’t that up next summer? I’d be amazed if they want to extend it, so I think that adds to the dilemma. Managers with much greater presence at a club have suffered when the players know his contract is coming to an end. (And I can’t imagine the players are loving his playing style, or losing, as is.) So assuming the contract doesn’t get renewed we’re looking at a when not if situation, and maybe the availability of a (hopefully we’ll researched and targeted) replacement determines the timing. Yeah but since then he's rejected Celtic in May and pundits are bigging him up to replace Arteta at Arsenal if things don't improve. We're no longer playoff contenders either. A lot's changed. Getting Howe isn't realistic now IMO. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Redreg - 15-08-2021 Did Any one hear anything yesterday about John terry on list of potential managers i heard lots of talk about it at half time yesterday RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - JollyLolly - 15-08-2021 Redreg, I don't think he contributed much at Villa, if you are going down the ex-Chelsea link how about considering Frank? Good shout JL RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Redreg - 15-08-2021 (15-08-2021, 02:04 PM)Madforit Wrote:(15-08-2021, 01:56 PM)JollyLolly Wrote: Redreg, I don't think he contributed much at Villa, if you are going down the ex-Chelsea link how about considering Frank? Frank also likes to press and works well with young players , would be a good fit RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - SSM - 15-08-2021 I like Lampard, I think he comes across a decent and genuine bloke, I think he has the personality that modern players will like him too. However, I don't think he aligns with everything we've heard about what Murphy likes. Watching Derby and Chelsea, he likes his teams to build out from the back, get on the ball progress with it. I don't think he is someone who looks to get it forward, press high and then squeeze the opposition. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Salvatore Matrecano - 15-08-2021 As much as I want stability I think this season will be like last and Hughton currently has 3 games to save his neck. 0 points from the next 2 he could be gone this time next week. Lose at Derby think he will be gone too, still leaving 5 days for a new guy to be appointed and bring one or two of his own choices in. Its happened before. It would be pretty naive knowing how this club works if you think they arent already sounding out possible replacements. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Paplane - 15-08-2021 The derby game could be massive. They always are for managers on the rocks. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Uwantlee - 15-08-2021 I would go for someone like chris cohen. I woukd rather Ch sort it out but he seems reluctant to change anything despite a year of dross. |
