I was so surprised on Saturday with the team that started and even more surprised by the substitutions that followed. You will not get away with that for very long.
We needed to gain control of the game and we bring colback on when we have the player of Fruelers quality sat on the bench that will get hold of the ball and keep it. Very baffling to finish a game with Colback and Yates in midfield with the options we had available.

I’m also baffled by the non use of the options available, but coopers has shown in the past that he knows how to succeed. Did he not win the World Cup with England u 17s?
He got Swansea into two successive playoff finals.
Forest were bottom of the championship and he led them to the premier league.
Is he being pressured to use players that were not his choice and refuses in order to make a point?
I would like to be a fly on the wall..

Well no obviously I would rather we were playing better of course. I am simply accepting the fact that all previous attempts to buy a new team historically (which was necessary) have been difficult to gel the players, particularly in the early stages. There will be different players that adjust to the new league quicker than other. Of the outfielders, we only have Kouyate, Lingard and Boly that have played regularly at this level (and Cook to a lesser extent).
I also mainly want to point out that out of our opening 6 games, 4 have been against top 6-8 sides including Man City and Spurs. It will get easier, needs a higher bar of what is expected to begin with in these games.

Cooper has a massive balancing act to do and this was ALWAYS going to be our problem.
The biggest obstacle to this is TIME.
If we hadn’t made a mistake at Everton and had packed the midfield for 45 mins on Saturday to scrape a win we would be on 9 points and sitting nicely whilst he goes about bedding in the new players, teaching them the ethos, teaching them the playing system and getting them PL fit etc
However, we have messed up in two games in particular and the pressure is really on I’m afraid.
I think losing probably our best CB and CM and not signing a recognised CF (spine of the team) has also massively impacted us.
Old Cooper isn’t having much luck and I just don’t buy into this putting out a ‘political’ team bull.
It’s his job on the line and he needs to earn his corn. I wish him luck as it’s a big week.
I see mention of Diego Costa was pooh poohed as a bad idea by some; well he’s on trial at wolves soon.
I’d say we need something exactly like him now.

If we win I suppose it means all the keyboard managers are accepting Cooper got it right and stay quiet but if we lose (badly) then the experts can't wait to tell the manager where he got it wrong in the game. What he should have done who he should have picked who should have come on/off, which formation we should have played, where we lost the "tactical battle" etc etc..
At least on here it's usually constructive. Some of the sh1t flying around social media is appalling.
Players win games, not tactics. If you throw in 3 goals in one half you're probably going to lose.
As an aside, after all the plaudits for noise home and away, I thought our supporters performance was pretty sh1t overall when the boys needed us and that's before the tools who booed. Are we good enough for this level? ( Too pedantic?)
Wonder if this thread will get to 25....

The thing is vs Spurs we got done but looked decent, I was on hols and we were getting praise from all corners.
Its that second half performance vs Bournemouth from both the team and the manager thats got us scratching our heads on this thread

Im not a regular poster however lurk on here most days reading pretty much everything (sad I know). My opinions are mine and generally like to keep them that way but I admit I will vent from time to time like after the Bournemouth game.. I honestly think the reason most people where frustrated with was going from a position of power (2-0 up) to imploding in that 2nd half. We could all see the team was struggling meaning SC could too but made no changes for whatever reason.. if it had happened against a top 8 team I think there would have been less complaints from people and even positives to take from it but against a team that will be fighting relegation along with ourselves was difficult to watch. I don't remember hendo having a save to make in the first half.
Any talk of SC being under pressure this early into the season is ridiculous especially with the number of signings made. People are still allowed to get frustrated though.

Yep I think Cooper was honest in his reflections post match too. Took responsibility- he needs to be better!
That’s what will make him succeed- his leadership. I have been critical but wasn’t there so can’t comment on the performance as such.
I think he has been loyal as much as he can and now needs to be objective on the training ground and pick the best team for the next game on the evidence in training. The best players that can deliver the chosen system to take on Leeds should play - whether they are new or old players.
I’m sure he will…

The talk of SC being under pressure is happening because most see it as an inevitability rather than their choice. If you polled the Forest fan base today I reckon 99% would want him to stay.
I cant remember the time I was more unhappy/annoyed/angry after a Forest defeat as I was on Saturday but it doesnt mean I want the manager sacking. I can see though that managers get sacked if they lose games regardless of the circumstances.

I was definitely disappointed with our second half on Saturday but bloody hell Pap you have a short memory if thats the worst you have felt.
I have been absolutely raging at some of the spineless capitulations without so much as an ounce of fight over the last 23 years, far far worse than a few sloppy mistakes on Saturday.
