RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Salvatore Matrecano - 30-04-2021 The average age of those 8 players mentioned in the above paragraph is 30. You bring in young players who dont work out well thats how it goes bit at least you have tried to look to the future, Ionannou a good example. To bring in so many older players you should know how they will perform, the experience should be your justification of higher wages and the fact they can not themselves return a profit. For them all to fail is rank poor planning , shows a total lack of recruitment skills and proves there was no vision as how those players would fit info the side. The philosophy was, they played for a decent side they were available so we bought them. Total bxxxxxxs. Age as well Wassy. All of those players are a year older and some are becoming more prone to injuries. That and the fact that the overhaul last season was made up of poor to average players, by and large and have not improved the side at all. Then there are the loan signings returning to their clubs, along with out of contract players from our own wage bill that will need replacing also. I would say as a slight caveat, you are assuming higher wages based on the same logic as above. I would've thought Fred and Colback at least would be on low wages. Taylor & Arter are earing a lot I imagine though. I do agree it did come across very kamikaze too, hopefully will have more time to plan it out this time. The loans from Jan were regularly quoted as part of the excess of signings though so its not fair to criticise the need to replace them and also the choice to sign them in the first place! The rebuild clearly failed badly, the point is it was needed then and it's needed now even more so. Yes. Yes. Yes. SA. With the four signings Hughton made? That was 17-18 signings in total for this current year? The four Hughton brought in stood out to me. The ones from last Summer? ERm. Mckenna is the one that immediately comes to mind. Cafu has been decent too. SA. Also, you mentioned Ioannou but there's no evidence we're going to get a make anything on him. Easier to shift probably but likely at a loss and will still have a decent wage. We still have to pay his contract even if we shift him so whether someone is stuck in your squad or sold or released it still amounts to the same thing. Not particularly well known fact that when you sell a player you still need to settle his contract unless he specifically requested a transfer (or had some kind of break clause perhaps) RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - tugger2018 - 01-05-2021 What’s the story with Arter he has not played at all is he really injured what was the injury I remember Roy Keane moaning when he had him for Ireland saying he never trained And arter replied I rarely do for my club Strange how we bought him then ? RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 01-05-2021 He was in the training photos earlier in the week. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 03-05-2021 Interesting point this: When Brighton were promoted under Hughton they failed to score in just 7 of their 46 league games. They also scored 3 or more goals in 13 of their 46 league games. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - PsychoStanleyStone - 03-05-2021 in 2015/16, Hughtons first full season, Brighton scored the joint most goals in the league 72, accumulated 89 points and only missed out on automatic by goal differance of 2, losing out to Karanka's Boro extremely impressive, but raises questions like where did it go wrong this season, oh yeh we blame the players and delight at the stability RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 03-05-2021 I think it's obvious that Hughton needs a full pre season and a full summer in the transfer market. You said it yourself above PSS 'Hughton's first FULL season'. |
