RE: Oliver Glasner - Welcome To Nottingham Forest - JohnG - 02-07-2026 Wasn't it suggested we went for Nuno over Glasner before because the later wanted more of an involvement in transfers etc. If so, this would suggest a change of approach Fabrizio Romano (MIRROR) @fabrizioromano.yopro20.com · 1h ?? Oliver Glasner will sign a three year deal at Nottingham Forest, all done after verbal agreement. Glasner will lead #NFFC project with involvement also in transfer plans. RE: Oliver Glasner - Welcome To Nottingham Forest - BadDog - 02-07-2026 Very happy, now lets have stability and progression! RE: Oliver Glasner - Welcome To Nottingham Forest - JohnG - 02-07-2026 We definitely need to give him time RE: Oliver Glasner - Welcome To Nottingham Forest - Sausage Roll - 02-07-2026 (02-07-2026, 10:08 AM)JohnG Wrote: We definitely need to give him time We really do. Look at how badly Iraola started at Bournemouth - no wins in the first 8/9 games or something like that. But look how it ended up. Would he have been given that time with us? Ange wasn't. RE: Oliver Glasner - Welcome To Nottingham Forest - Salvatore Matrecano - 02-07-2026 It will be interesting to see the level of autonomy and input Glasner gets and of course if what he has been promised matches the reality. I wouldn’t be surprised if his role is old fashioned 1st team manager rather than head coach. RE: Oliver Glasner - Welcome To Nottingham Forest - Sausage Roll - 02-07-2026 It'll be interesting to see what the squad and team look like should everything go through. I think our defence is set up nicely for playing three at the back. Murillo, Milenkovic and Jair Cunha feels like a great three once they get used to it and in Williams, Aina and Netz we've got three players well-suited to playing wing-back. Not as sure about Savona - he might be better as one of the central three (if he stays). Midfield will be interesting. Does Sangare get more license to push forward? And further forward more interesting still. Jesus and MGW behind Wood? That leaves a lot of out-and-out wingers without an obvious position. If we stick with Glasner's preferred set-up then a lot of players are going to need to adapt to be part of it. RE: Oliver Glasner - Welcome To Nottingham Forest - Salvatore Matrecano - 02-07-2026 Unless I’m mistaken Glasner doesn’t play with a standard No10 which means MGW would have to adapt his role. Whether he is prepared to do that is a big factor. Last year Palace had Sarr playing as part of the 3 up front, my suspicion is we would look for something similar meaning Jesus is the one squeezed out. However based on the current wingers we have, I think he'll be fine! Whether he is prepared to do that is a big factor. He played left wing under Pereira and had the best spell of his career. I think out wide forward in a 433/343 really suits him (not to mention it would give him a new route into the England team...) |
