RE: VAR & Crap Referees - Salvatore Matrecano - 21-04-2024 Seriously how does this stuff possibly help us in the last 4 games? Still the appeal for points deduction this week. Does this show the club in a good light? Does it make a panel sympathetic towards us. Or do we just look unprofessional? Then consider the referees and VAR officials next 4 games. We have literally just called one of their colleagues a cheat and called the organisation they work for corrupt. Does that help us? Finally we have an underperforming team who need to produce something, anything on the pitch which we are desperately hoping gives us the dubious title of the team to survive in the PLwith the lowest number of points. Does this diversion make them focus better? Shambles of a position to put ourselves in. Fully expect the PL and PGMOL to close ranks against us. Edit. To clarify. Calling out referreeing standards is one thing. The biggest problem in this is accusing the 4th official of bias. We crossed a line with that. RE: VAR & Crap Referees - zicorice - 21-04-2024 VAR is crap, refs are crap. But never for one minute as I filtered out of Goodison did I expect the statement I saw. It's pretty poor I'd say. We have taken a hammering on Radio and then when I got home I see Jamie F@(King Carragher calling us embarrassing and the like. Just seen the pens on TV and 2 are defo pens. But even so, it's come across as petulant and sore losers. It leaves a bad taste for last 4 games. RE: VAR & Crap Referees - The reds - 21-04-2024 Well done Forest for calling out the PL and the PGMOL, we are good at being the first club to do certain things. RE: VAR & Crap Referees - stefanduma - 21-04-2024 Correct me if I am wrong but haven't other clubs objected to officials in the past, discretely, and changes to officials made. We raised concerns privately prior to the match taking place and they still went ahead. So what do we do then do we just bend over and take it up the the arse week in week out. It's about time some team calls it out so what's wrong with it being us and to be honest I'd find it very hard to believe we'd called a ref or var a Luton spporter without having knowledge on that. Who know it could've been Clattenburg who told us about being a Luton supporter. RE: VAR & Crap Referees - Paplane - 21-04-2024 I do believe it's standard practice for a ref with an affiliation to any side to be prevented from refereeing them. And sure enough Atwell hasn't reffed any Luton games this season. So why does that rule not apply to the var? RE: VAR & Crap Referees - Paplane - 21-04-2024 Ive just looked up Atwells record as a ref. According to Transfermarkt, he's never reffed a Luton game, ever. That suggests he does have an affiliation. Luton weren’t playing today RE: VAR & Crap Referees - Paplane - 21-04-2024 (21-04-2024, 07:54 PM)ToryTom Wrote:(21-04-2024, 07:42 PM)Paplane Wrote: Ive just looked up Atwells record as a ref. Im pointing out, as i think you know, that there is clearly a block on Atwell reffing Luton games. Im saying no more than that. RE: VAR & Crap Referees - ToryTom - 21-04-2024 Nuno isn’t a very good manager, the team were rubbish and looked like they gave up after we conceded the second goal, but for me the game today felt the same as the one in Anderlecht 40 years ago. All three were penalties but not the worse we have had this season. that goes to the var who failed to give a pen when Williams was tripped in the Wham game. Not sure in what world that wasn’t an obvious penalty as you will ever see. I hate moaning about decisions that go against us but this is begining not to feel right. Nobody thought the referee could be bribed in a Ueffa cup semi final but we know they were and the fans suspected so at the time. Because this is England and the premier league it doesn’t mean something underhand could not happen. Throughout a season you say luck usually evens out. you win some you lose some. we haven’t won any. There’s a way to do things, even to ruffle a few feathers publicly but IMO this statement was made in the heat of the moment and went way too far. I can’t see any good outcome from what we have done. |
