RE: Stevie Cooper - DeesideRed - 04-12-2023 He will walk into a more settled squad and in fairness one that promotes youth so can easily see how its a good fit for them. Perhaps, like I said I don't care what he does once he is not our manager any more. I will only care about what our manager is doing. By the way Palace have signed 16 players in the last couple of seasons so hardly a settled squad in my view. RE: Stevie Cooper - northeastred - 04-12-2023 Funny you should say that. Coops came here with the view to giving our academy players a chance in the 1st team. Apart from the EFL cup. How often do they get a chance. Even in the bench. When we were lacking acting subs RE: Stevie Cooper - Madforit - 04-12-2023 (04-12-2023, 12:50 PM)Sniffer Dog (Admin) Wrote:(04-12-2023, 11:48 AM)northeastred Wrote:(04-12-2023, 11:46 AM)Big red Wrote:(04-12-2023, 08:38 AM)Sniffer Dog (Admin) Wrote:(03-12-2023, 08:24 PM)Big red Wrote: So is cooper likely to be sacked soon or are we jumping the gun,I personally what him to stay if it wasn't for him we would be where are,in cooper I trust I don't often agree with what you say, but I am 100% with you on this comment, I was one of the first that was banging the drum about Cooper especially after we played Swansea in a cup game at their place, they played us off the park and made us look shocking. I expressed my own views about him being our manager, we all know what happened and that is in the past, I am more interested in the here and now, and what I am seeing is not nice, not for the paying public that has to put up with watching this shit, nor the player's or even the manager, but the buck stops with him, he's getting paid to do a job. Personally I think his time is up, I cannot see us getting anything from the Fulham game, and unfortunately if he does get binned by the big man, then so be it, I am 100% behind the manager and the team but I think the writing is on the wall for Cooper, I support the club regardless of who is in charge of the team, and if Cooper finds himself out of a job I will thank him for his service at the club and will welcome the next man through the door, it's as simple as that, the club comes first. Spot on! RE: Stevie Cooper - Fumanchew - 04-12-2023 I want to know what happened to that team against Villa? Was it all luck especially the second goal? Is it just Cus there’s no awoniyi and he’s making wood play like taiwo and it’s just not working? Is it too many international breaks breaking up him working with his new international players? He persisted with a 3 man midfield Cus it was working what changed within that? RE: Stevie Cooper - DR Forest - 05-12-2023 Cooper has been let down by a mixture of our premature promotion to the PL and the club’s recruitment. Hear me out- since promotion, I don’t mean any specific failure in that, just the situation of the unexpected gulf in class we had to bridge. It was and is an almost impossible task- you need to pick up a gem like Brentford did to make the difference, but everyone is looking for the same thing. Some criticism is justified for the seasons before promotion; we’ve needed another quick man and striker for a few years now- we quickly forget that we were almost totally reliant on Grabban way before Taiwo was even heard of, not to mention more recently Brennan (who was always going to leave). We have a rough diamond in elanga and cho is worth the gamble but if you haven’t got a striker who can a) hold the ball up and b) make runs in behind the defence then your best creative player (MGW) becomes blunted and unlocking drilled defences becomes really tough. I hope the Greeks can see it, have some patience and pick up another gem in January (Leonardo or guirassy) and allow the team to develop under cooper. The job is only 3/5ths done If he stutters next season then it’s fair game, but for now better the devil you know imo. RE: Stevie Cooper - Marco Polo - 05-12-2023 I have ZERO confidence in miranakis picking the correct manager to replace cooper. Scattergun recruitment Hit and hope with managers until he got lucky with cooper. Will he strike gold twice in a row? Doubt it RE: Stevie Cooper - Shawoddyred - 05-12-2023 (05-12-2023, 10:26 AM)Marco Polo Wrote: I have ZERO confidence in miranakis picking the correct manager to replace cooper. To be fair......I thought Hughton would do well. Anyway, we're a much much more attractive prospect for any manager now. Other than those at the very top clubs already. Took you off ignore for the time being to see if you were writing any abuse. SO why did Marinakis get lucky you care to explain? Cooper was identified, he was free, Marinakis flew him out to Greece to interview him and he offered him the job. What was lucky about it? RE: Stevie Cooper - Deeler16 - 05-12-2023 I get the feeling that until the big boss gets a definitive yes from any of the prospectives he’s speaking to, nothing will happen with Cooper. Random person on twitter stated a few days back that Lopetegui’s agent said no citing lack of squad depth..easily fixed in Jan. Sniff you heard anything about this? We’re an attractive proposition for most mgrs but I can understand the squad reference. Emery had a good squad whereas we have a top first 11 but as we’ve seen, no Taiwo, no party RE: Stevie Cooper - nffc93 - 05-12-2023 (05-12-2023, 10:26 AM)Marco Polo Wrote: I have ZERO confidence in miranakis picking the correct manager to replace cooper. Stick to Vital Forest mate. Clearly on a windup Can't even be bothered to see his name right. |
