RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Paplane - 23-07-2020 (23-07-2020, 08:44 AM)PsychoStooge Wrote: Marco Silva is available. EM had him at Oly. Ivo Vieira also had another good season in Portugal, he's been linked in the past. Or what about Cook at Wigan? I should imagine he wouldn't mind jumping ship. I want to see Sabri given another go now he's run the course once. But Silva's the obvious candidate. He has Championship experience. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - wassy04 - 23-07-2020 Carvalhal ex wednesday manager? He was pretty close to getting it when we sacked karanka and he's done well since then in Portugal RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Paplane - 23-07-2020 Houghton is also available. He'd be decent, if there's still some fuel in his tank. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - jurgen rober - 23-07-2020 I always go back to what Cloughie used to say - Rome wasn't built in a day. Even Bielsa took 2 seasons with Weeds. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Madforit - 23-07-2020 I'd like to see Hughton or Dyche if Lamouchi is given his p45, but I just hope the big man doesn't go for someone who is not experienced with this league. I know it's not what people want to hear, but the owner can't give a manager whatever it takes. He already funds losses to that allowed by FFP. The only club that finished in the top 6 that don't have a massively greater revenue than us is Brentford, who consistently bought well. That's what we need to do. Sacking yet another manager causes instability and hits our budget even further as no doubt we'll have to pay him off as well. Also, I just looked it up, Brentford don't regularly fire their head coach. Just one change since 2015 and that was when Dean Smith left for Villa. So before this season they finished 11th last season, 9th before that, 10th & 9th. Not once did they sack their head coach. They just continued with their plan and bought wisely. That's what we need to do. They are also not too afraid to sell their best players and reinvest. Recent departures : Maupay £20m. Konsa £12m. Yennaris £5m. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - northeastred - 23-07-2020 Few greek news sites saying hes leaving RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - wassy04 - 23-07-2020 There was one game I think it was QPR where we played 4231 and allowed Carvalho to play his natural position. It was disappointing that this tactic was never revisited as it felt like a potential blueprint to both be more expansive at home and get more out of Carvalho or even Silva. Given he tried and failed three times to play wing backs its a shame this was never given greater autonomy particularly when it became clear earlier in the year we were struggling at home RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - stirred - 23-07-2020 (23-07-2020, 10:21 AM)Paplane Wrote:(23-07-2020, 10:10 AM)stirred Wrote:(23-07-2020, 09:04 AM)ThePromisedLand Wrote:(23-07-2020, 08:48 AM)the jock Wrote:(23-07-2020, 08:44 AM)Salvatore Matrecano Wrote: I sincerely hope that also swimming in the the very very deep water are Dourekas, Modesto and Anigo. Yes they have to sell in order to stay within FFP, like ourselves. They have to use some of the money from their sales to replace the talent and manage to strengthen. Investing in talent on the rise like Maupay, Watkins & Benrahma is key. We need to be able to do the same. We got away with selling an academy prospect (Appiah) last season so it didn't hit the first team, but this summer I suspect we'll have to sell (and replace for less) at least 1 first teamer. We will need to sell to meet FFP now therefore we need an efficient recruitment team to target buys and loans, working to an overall team building plan. We have had a few successes this season but overall Modesto and Anigo have let us down, there appears little strategy in their dealings. They have not been good enough. |
