NR has only had a reduced role over past 12-18 months anyway.

He is only ‘front of house’ and pretty much matchdays.

There were lots for him to sort out in the initial stages of the new ownership.

Don’t think anything has changed regarding his current role.

Can’t see this posted anywhere I don’t think but anyone seen the release of the retro jerseys through the club shop. Was a bit too young to have that 92 home shirt but it always makes me think of Pearce. I have the yellow away top somewhere I doubt it fits anymore...

Look like cheap imitations ( no branding - assume not possible ) at premium prices...

Anyone read the Kris Commons article on The Athletic. If you want to continue to dislike him, I would advise not reading it!

Well written but poor bloke to be put in that position. Doesn't paint Doughty and Co in a good light.

For anyone that doesn't have it, the gist is that he lost a child around the time of his contract ending and didn't want to move his partner away from her family. Forest didn't offer him a new deal so he took one at Derby, so he they could stay close to family. Poor guy.

Always two sides to every story though isn't there? What he doesn't say is what he was asking for in his last talks with the club before the impasse. And I believe the way he left Derby too wasn't too clever. A few shenanigans going on negotiations wise IIRC from my sheep mates.

It goes without saying that I have a lot of sympathy for the tragedy he went through but the star player leaving us as a newly promoted team for the sheep is something I'll never be able to forgive or forget. Any other club, perhaps so, but not them.

He wanted to stay - he wanted paying - forest said they had a pay structure to adhere to then signed players that blew that to bits shortly after... any way - he could and should have gone to a different club if he didn’t want to cope with the consequences...
However, his personal tragedy is horrible and I have immense sympathy with him for that...

KC had form for running his contract down and joining another club for more money, he did it at Stoke, Forest and Derby. Not saying I blame him most of us would do the same but he had a habit of leaving under a cloud. Forest were in L1 at the time and couldn’t offer a contract until the end of the season anyway. Derby had just been relegated from the PL with parachute money and we would never have been above to match their offer which he knew.
I feel sorry for his family loss, shit happens in all walks of life, but I dont regret singing about him being a Judas when he came back here.

Exactly. If that's the way you want to make money (by running your contract down and leaving for nowt) then fine, that's a player's prerogative, but don't then years later expect to be welcomed with open arms by a fanbase of the club you did it to. You cant have it both ways. Years before, Stuart Pearce stayed loyal even when he was underpaid (according to him), but he could see the bigger picture. Des Walker stayed on for another year after doing a deal with Cloughy. It happens all the time.

At the end of that season KC, as he understandably needed to stay settled, could've had his agent banging on Arthur's door, asking what it'd take to get offered a new contract, or suggesting a 12 month extension on similar terms maybe until both parties were better placed to make a proper decision. But he didn't. His agent went off and started talking mega numbers to the sheep. It pisses me off when players come out and say they want to stay, at the same time their agent is asking for silly money to do so.

Hard to disagree with much of that but something that still exists to this day is the poor treatment of local / home grown players compared to others. For example it must grate on Joe Worrall the disparity between his wages and those of hefele for example.
