RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Salvatore Matrecano - 13-04-2023 Can’t fault his ambition or level of investment. We will all always be grateful. Just wish he would sometimes be a little more considered in his decisions, put the right people in place to run the club for him and let them get on with their jobs. Not every owner is as bad as Wray/Scholar or Fawaz. That's a lot easier said than done! Do you not think, every time he has appointed someone, that he hopes they can successfully run the club? I see it as him trying to find that right person.... I think he deserves it, he put his money where his mouth is and once again he delivered on a promise and invested 170M in the team just like he said he would when he stood in front of thousands of adoring fans in the old market square. I don't agree with everything you say on EM but can I just say I enjoy your unwavering loyalty towards him, which I'd argue he has reciprocated in his backing. It would be nice if more fans showed similar loyalty to the rest of the club and the players/staff that achieved the recent success. Loyalty is an underrated commodity and will get you far in sports. I would rather someone was repeatedly loyal to the wrong people than never loyal at all RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - wassy04 - 13-04-2023 (13-04-2023, 09:56 AM)Shawoddyred Wrote:(13-04-2023, 09:40 AM)Salvatore Matrecano Wrote: Can’t fault his ambition or level of investment. If you keep failing to find someone, at what point do you need to change your approach? RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Salvatore Matrecano - 13-04-2023 I wouldn’t say Marinakis isnt loyal Wassy. And loyalty to the wrong people can be costly as Doughty found out with Mark Arthur. If its the Gary Brazil thing you are alluding to I agree. Wonder if Sniffer knows something else by writing this today too? Only my hunch but think Sunday is Cooper’s last game. We will all always be grateful. Seriously, how do you know they have made 1 mistake? It's never that simple either, often subjective rather than a definite mistake or not. Might even be down to how they get along. Maybe all these people involved in English/British football are not as good as made out - EM is trying to get experience in the league to help but perhaps the pool is full of shysters or people simply not good enough? Looking and hearing them, it wouldn't surprise me if they're rubbish. There are 2 worlds in this country that seem to be full of very successful (as in the keep getting senior roles) 'professionals' that really do seem to flatter to deceive.....public 'servants' and football executives. EM has been surprisingly loyal to Cooper so far in comparison to the wider industry's approach to coaches. Not saying it was wrong either but regardless you can't have any kind of long term plan if you keep making short term changes. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Mcforest - 13-04-2023 Sniffers words are correct in my view and yes sometimes i'm a WTF but look we made it to the premiership under him and all the things that had to happen to get us here and there will be a lot more that needs to happen before we are here for the long term. Now i'm off to get sniffers words put on a inspirational poster with a kitten or something RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - wassy04 - 13-04-2023 (13-04-2023, 08:37 AM)Sniffer Dog (Admin) Wrote: EM just given us our first season back in the premier League after 23 years. SC just given us our first season back in the premier League after 23 years. Despite currently being in the bottom three I pray that we can retain our PL status next season. I think he deserves it. No of course he is not perfect but then again who is? But his passion is second too none, his determination and fierce drive to be a winner and to be the best there is is admirable. Personally I wouldn't change him for anyone. I am loving this ride he is taking us on, it's a great journey and long may it continue. Not everyone will agree with me of course but you should be careful what you wish for. Would you like us to go back to the Chris Hughton, Gary Megson days? We were one breath from relegation when SC came in, now we are currently in the PL and on a solid footing with an improving squad on paper. I think it's been a great ride and it's certainly never boring that's for sure. Fasten your seat belts and enjoy the ride that SC is taken us on, embrace it, there will be some ups and downs but we have never had it this good in the last 20 years, we shouldn't lose sight of that. No one will ever change SC. Enjoy him for what he is, his heart is in the right place and he means well. He loves Nottingham Forest Football Club, we all do, he's one of us. Just changed a few things above to show how the exact same argument can be applied to Steve Cooper too. What do you think? RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Marco Polo - 13-04-2023 Steve Cooper got us promoted not EM Thankful for the money - but he got very lucky with Steve Cooper - we’re now back to throwing money around and hoping something works RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Salvatore Matrecano - 13-04-2023 (13-04-2023, 11:27 AM)wassy04 Wrote:(13-04-2023, 08:37 AM)Sniffer Dog (Admin) Wrote: EM just given us our first season back in the premier League after 23 years. Fully agree Wassy Thing is the owner doesn’t get sacked if he goes a few games without a win. |
