Our wingers were pretty shit last year though, the only one that played well was when Pereira put MGW out there.
What I like about the friendlies so far as that his tactics seem to allow us to play MGW, Jesus and Wood which is ideal really. Jesus was out one hit of a signing and need to find out the best way to utilise him.

Two interviews with Glasner today in The Athletic and The Telegraph. Not read the latter but the first one is quite interesting, though no huge revelations in it.
Cites EM's ambition as one of the main reasons for moving to Forest as it matches his own, and also restates the desire to become an established top-half Premier League club.

Said he refused at first as wanted European football but then looked at potential here. If you are being cynical you would say that he was never offered the big jobs he was hoping for. Not sure about that, he could definitely have got another job if he had waited long enough although might have had to join mid season.

I think I've seen all his interviews and read the articles and I still don't see why he chose us. It can only be because he didn't get the offers he thought he would. I just hope we're not being used as a convenient stepping stone.

Maybe so but if he succeeds and gets into Europe then he has already stepped up and if not then he'll not be able to command another role anyway!
I struggle to see which Prem role he could get realistically anyway, maybe he thought he had a shot at Man Utd, think they were linked. Villa perhaps if/when Emery leaves at some point in the future. Can't see him at Liverpool, Arsenal, City, Chelsea perhaps in the future although feel like they'll stick with Alonso for a while. Spurs have too much invested in De Zerbi and in the scenario he leaves they would be doing terribly again so can't really see that.
Maybe a CL German club comes knocking at some point?

Yep, I would too but there's no guarantee he can do that. He was blessed with some seriously talented players at Palace who happened to be there when he was. And his FA cup win was lucky.

I'm sure I'll learn to love the guy but the way he left Palace and ended up with us is rather suspect.
You cant criticise him for wanting to leave Palace for a more ambitious club (Palace are the epitome of an unambitious club), but every pundit expected him to end up with a champions league club at the least.

I think had he waited a few weeks he would have definitely got the Newcastle job.

Howe quit because they were selling all his better players. Don't think Newcastle job is particularly attractive right now! Although still got some decent players.

That’s too simplistic and most of that money will be reinvested, Jaissle will have a big war chest. There is a weight of expectation around Newcastle that may not be realistic though.
