I'm not sure we did, did you see the cost of their squad cost in comparison to ours and considering they had both received parachute payments in the promotion season as well. We did not gain a sporting advantage on either of those. Bournemouth spending January was nearly 100m too.

A lawyer could have a field day on the term "reckless" from it's definition through to it's interpretation and intended use by the panel. The only (bad) consequence of us spending what we did is falling foul of these daft rules.
I am annoyed we have breached the rules and agree a punishment is needed to deter others but am not happy a points deduction appears to be an absolute especially when no actual sanctions are in the rules (as far as.i know)
For the record I didn't like the number of signings we made last year and said as much at the time, more so than the actual amount of monies spent.

Their baseline squad cost is completely irrelevant.
Bournemouth’s spend is irrelevant too as you well know. We went over the P&S limit, they didn’t.

I think we all recognise that the number of players signed last year was somewhat worrying especially when you consider some of those players, the lack of impact they had and money wasted. But then in the position we were init could be said we didn’t have a lot of choice if we wanted to stay u. I suppose it comes down to the argument of what is perceived as being reckless. Were we reckless in signing so many but ultimately staying up therefore reaping the financial benefits of another Premier League season or would it have been reckless to have not made the signings we did and gone straight back down. The other consideration for me is had we sold BJ before the 30/6 we’d have met the PSR limits and would anyone then be thinking we were reckless then?

I'm merely talking about gaining a sporting advantage, tell me how our spend enabled us to get a sporting advantage ie on the pitch when our squad cost at the start of that summer was 12m and the nearest behind us is a 158m.
I take the breach and accept but what I cannot accept is that we gained a sporting advantage on a single team in the prem last season.

I mean how can a team coming up from the Championship possibly have a sporting advantage over teams who are already in there (PL)?
I will accept it if we broke the rules and I will take the punishment on the chin like I have always done in life.
However it is the rules that are so stupid to begin with that brasses me off.

Sorry guys but think some comments are veering towards the Derbyesque Mel Morris is innocent type.
P&S is looking at a rolling 3 years in isolation. If your argument about sporting advantage applied then by the same logic Everton could claim their squad cost is a fifth of Liverpool’s and they should be able to spend £800m to be able to compete with their neighbours.
We theoretically had the same allowable loss as any other promoted team and by breaking that allowable loss we could have gained an advantage on them.
Im not denying the rules are unfair or that the system is hopelessly skewed towards the bigger teams. However that is the monster we created back in 1993 and unfortunately the monster we are aiming to be a part of.

Don't know of many claiming we are innocent. What I see is people criticising what appears to be an instant point deduction and feeling it is incredibly harsh (I am one of those). Plenty of other punishments can be dished out including fines, transfer bans etc.. depending on the severity of the breach which would also show enforcement of rules and act as a deterrent to others.
Chelsea for example have taken the piss spending a billion in a short space of time. That is so much worse than what we or Everton have done so I would expect them to receive a harsher punishment when the time comes

We are no where near veering towards Derby, don’t you dare compare us to them. We broke the rules simple. What grind my gears is that the whole situation is farcical we won’t know how many points are needed with 5 games left. Why wait a week to do the hearing why can’t they do it today if the case was submitted at the end of January.
